How to control relay to startsolenoid

Suzuki XL7 the starter runs but the solenid is not working. Tryed it when i had it
out of the car, and everything war OK Is it a relee that causes this?

If the starter motor works, it's not a relay problem. Solenoids go bad and in twenty years, that's really possible, Just fit a new solenoid.

Check for proper voltage at the starter, starters and solenoids all need power to function correctly. Some of these starters had rebuildable solenoids, that you could replace the contact ring and the contact plates. If your parts store is a good one they can tell if it has that type of solenoid.
