my toy runs but its not quick to pick up speed . what could it be?

It drives slow then picks up speed.

I had the same issue. Was told to check my O2 sensor, ended up being my fuel pump. Did it myself cost $100. Unfortunately mine is a '92 and still takes time to reach speed, especially if its cold.
