it supposed to shut off. is the pump stopped or are you getting engine"run -on" a.k.a." dieseling "??? . if so shut off the engine with brake on in reverse then move to park & remove key. that is what i was told to do because they said it was bad for the engine. there could be deposits in the combustion chamber.

Your fuel pump relay may be stuck "on" its not supposed to run with the key off.

It will run sometimes for a few seconds, just to prime the lines to a certain psi.
