Swapping rims and tires

Asked by Denika Apr 04, 2019 at 09:10 PM about the 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix

Question type: General

I have a 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix. It currently
has 205/70r15's on and I'm wondering if I
can put 225/60r16's on it instead.

There's lots of room under there so the larger tires and wheels shouldn't be a problem. Not sure what you've got in mind for rims, but you will want to test fit them both back AND front to make sure they clear the brake calipers. Minor interference can be corrected with wheel spacers, but don't get too carried away with that. If in doubt a good tire shop can help you so your car remains safe to drive.
