I have a 06 grand prix gt 3.8 v6 It looks like a new ignition switch was put in and and a used lock cylinder installed in the switch. I have tried the sequence of turning the key on for 10 minutes and off for 10 seconds 3 times and it will not start . The message center still says antitheft will not start. my pontiac grand prix 2001 check engine light came on. i checked the codes and the coils came up. i tried testing the coils myself with a small vacuum hose a a light tester to see if i was getting the right amount of spark and all of a sudden my car turns on but shuts off immediately after its been turned over. what could be my problem? please help 1 Answer
