I have a 2000 Grand Prix 3.8 it starts and cuts back off what could the problem be

The easiest and fastest thing to check is SECURITY. If you see a flashing SECURITY message on your display that's the problem ,, if not then proceed to troubleshoot ... but what's happening to you is a classic GP problem

I'd try the maas air flow sensor. I had a 2000 grand prix that done the same thing. Unplug the MAF and the car should stay running if so than that's your problem
