What modifications would be needed to install a 3.4L from a 2005 Grand Am in a 2002 Grand Am?

Engine in the 2002 is fried have an opportunity to purchase a 3.4L off a 2005.

honestly not a lot if anything will need to be changed as far as i can recall, maybe a flash to the computer system or some electrical things but should be much it any modifications needed

straight swap as far as i can see... tranny will bolt up fine and the existing cooling, electronics will all work fine... swap the computer consoles and you should be good to go...

Thanks Ashley121! Indeed mods were minimal, the alternator bracket off the original was the main thing. The 2005 did not have the Low Oil sensor so the connector had no place to plug into. What did you mean about the flash to the computer? gc4ac
