Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought a Pontiac Grand Prix 2006
first it would not start it was saying
that it was a bad battery so I tried to
have it jump started so I could go buy
another one it was charging for about
30 45mins then I tried to crank it then
I did not work so I tried to crank it
and put my foot on the gas and it
made a really loud popping noise that
sounded like a gunshot? Do I need to
just get a new engine kuz Ik nothing a

more then I should or should I just
junk it and Get a new car?

No, you're engine is probably fine. Get a new battery. Those are all symptoms of a battery that is so worn out it won't even take a charge. Borrow a good battery out of another car if you have to to confirm the problem and get you to a parts store where you can buy one.
