replacing motor in 3.5 Montero Sport

motor turns over manually when bolted up loosely, but as soon as I tighten up  
the bolts to the tranny the motor locks up and won't turn over.

make sure the torque converter is in the tranmission all the way , spin it several times around , and make sure the studs on the torque converter are going in the holes on the flywheel , be careful , the transmission pump breaks very easy if its not all the way in the tranny, if this is not it , makes sure everything is correct to the vehicle, good luck
