Do all 2004 Kia Rios have an oil shut off sensor valve?

Asked by Sarah131313 Dec 26, 2015 at 08:01 PM about the 2004 Kia Rio

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My son had the oil changed at a local shop last Sat. Today, the oil plug fell out and the car stopped running within 1.5 miles of the oil going down. Hoping  that the sensor turned off the car before it ruined the engine.

If all the oil ran out and the car was driven a mile and a half the engine is probably seized. If so you will need a new or rebuilt engine. The oil change shop will have to pay for the new engine since they forgot to tighten the oil drain plug,

I seriously doubt you have a low oil shut off. Sorry.

But, I think it would be worth trying to put some oil back into it, That is if the motor still turns over, and see what it sounds like.

No check this out my daughter's (Kia Rio 2012) oil was low cause of coarse her husband did check it and it would turn over but not start so I put about 2.5 quarts in and it started on the third try. I've never encountered anything like that but it's what happened
