will an engine from a 92 jeep cherokee fit in a 98 cheroke its a 4 dr sport

do i have to do any mods or just change the mounts

it should bolt right in, but the tranny mounts may not be right. i just wouldnt be comfortable putting in that much older of an engine into a newer model

You may have to change the flywheel... Your 98 has a newer computer... You'll need the 98's flywheel mounted on the 92 engine... There also may be difference in the temperature sending unit wiring and location..
