Tire size?

Presently have 15"rims that would like to replace with 16". What is the largest tire I could obtain without installing lift kits????
Thanks
Richard

Hello,
According to TireRack, you should be able to go up to 20", so the 16" should be fine.  Here is some more information: http://www.tirerack.com/upgrade_garage/WheelSearch.jsp?autoMake=Jeep&autoModel=Grand+Cherokee+Laredo&autoYear=1997&autoModClar=
Best of luck!

Rim size isn't an issue. Watch out for your backspacing though..might cause you to rub your control arms, etc. If you are running stock jeep 16" rims or something similar in backspacing, you can put a tire up to 30" in diameter
