Jeep Cherokee 4wd

Asked by Carol Nov 20, 2016 at 03:42 PM about the 2000 Jeep Cherokee

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I used part time 4wd for the first time
spence I bought it and now it clunks when
I turn, it leaked all the oil out of differential
cover and I am afraid to drive it. I popped it
in reverse and it seemed to help but now
there is oil everywhere.

Did you drive it on hard, dry pavement with it in 4WD? You broke the axle or differential and it is not safe to drive.

It started snowing real bad so I popped it in part time 4wd. Yes roads were only wet. Any ideas how much to fix?
