Managing battery for extended period of non-use of the car

Asked by BlueDragon77 May 06, 2019 at 07:49 AM about the 2013 Volkswagen Passat

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I owned a 2013 Passat. I will be away for a long period (more than a month) and the car will be at the car park.
Question: should I (a) disconnect the battery and run the risk of instrumentation issue during restart or (b) leave it as is and then do a jump start when I return (by which time battery could be dead and may require a replacement, and still messes up the instrumentation)? Is there another solution?

Thank you. This is the solution that I am looking for. I have a power supply for tender so no issue. Was not aware of such a device. Best solution and thank you again.
