My daughter has 2012 Nissan Rogue that blew a head gasket.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When dealer repaired, the engine timing was not correct. Check engine light
showed that oxygen sensors needed to be replaced. could this be because of
timing off? (Cam and crank timing). Dealer says that sensors are not related
to timing.

True, the O2 sensors are not tied in with the timing, there just reading emissions levels. But there are other reasons for the codes to show a problem with a O2 sensor. It could be caused by the way the engine is running, make sure everything with the way the engine is running is good.

How is the engine running otherwise? How many miles have you put on the car since the repair?

Get rid of that car as soon as possible. They are death traps. They have a cvt transmission that is total garbage. And I can bet that this is your problem. The reason it blew a head gasket is probably because her car engine wasn't being cooled properly which was probably because the terrible cvt transmission aka, death trap, which can not cool down properly. This is even with fluids at their proper levels. This terrible transmission overheats simply if its too hot out or if you accelerate too quickly or if your going uphill or if the temperature where you live go from hot to cold. Hmmmm, which to me is everywhere. I bet the car was making a slipping sound before it happened. Like she was having issues speeding up? That's due to the wonderful belt slipping in the transmission. Which at that point you already have a big problem. But i assure you that you are not alone. CVT transmissions are dangerous.
