Nissan 2012 Rogue failed transmission

Asked by GuruXYD11 Oct 07, 2018 at 09:53 PM about the 2012 Nissan Rogue SV AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2012 Nissan rogue with 69,000 miles.
CVT transmission totally failed. Contacted Nissan
said they will not cover it. I have seen they have
extended warranty for other years. I am very
disappointed.  What choices do I have when a car
fails at 69,000 miles?  He said it would be $4000 to
replace. Seems like Nissan know somethings
wrong with his transmission and they’re not doing
anything.

Just got rid of a 2012 AWD Rogue and now leasing 2018 Rogue with 18k miles per year. 2012 absolutely known to have CVT defect to the point of class action possibilities. If you haven't acted yet search for class action "class" CVT Rogue, check Recall lists of cars; beyond that I can't help except to say 2018 totally different car. Our 2012 scrupulously maintained at the dealer 130k miles but collective amnesia as to any problems with CVT etc. 69k miles is a hit though why not lease?

My 2012 Rogue started jerking and the rpms go crazy and then it feels like it’s going to poop out. I’m trying to schedule an Appt w/a Nissan dealership to see what is going on but just waiting for them to call me back. I’m terrified to drive it now after seeing so many people with the same problem and it being the CVT transmission. Mine only has 82k on it but it sounds like this is a problem after 60k. I had 180k on my Mazda and never had an issue w/the transmission. More importantly I have 2 babies that go everywhere with me in this vehicle. We bought this vehicle so that they would be safe. What if the car just stops like so many others have? This is so dangerous! How has Nissan not fixed this issue w/all the complaints?

I have 2012 rogue tooo my transmission failed for the second time and I’m contemplating if I need to lease a new car or just pay to fix the transmission I really don’t wanna make car payments right now honestly
