Mazda Tribute sleeper(has it been done and should I do it)

Hey so I’m 16 and have my license and my
mom gave me her car when she got a new
one problem is it’s a 2009 Mazda Tribute that
sounds depressed when it idles and is a v4
automatic 2.0 liter and I was wondering how I
should go about or if I should go about
making it a sleeper I already got a job to save
up for a new car but I think tuning the Mazda
would be a much more interesting project

i know how stupid it sounds but it was just a thought thanks for the advice

Since engine swaps are so complicated and involved these days they really are not practical for street use. Older cars from the 60's or 70's can make good basis for a sleeper car. Modern cars that can take a bolt on supercharger are also good sleeper candidates.

Yeah my dream car is a 97 Miata I’ve been looking at but 6k is looking steep for a Miata in my area considering a slightly more stock goes for 5k , 240sx’s e46 and 36 are all things I look at but I’m a broke high schooler haha
