Changed car battery yesterday and it worked. This morning, it doesn't work

Asked by FrankNBuns May 23, 2018 at 12:53 PM about the 2002 Honda Accord

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Yesterday, I tried to turn on my car, but nothing turned on. The engine didn't
make a noise and no lights came on. So I changed the battery and once I did,
the car worked again! I took the car out on a short 5 minute drive and left my
car alone afterwards. This morning when I tried to start up my car again, I had
the same problem as yesterday so I'm not quite too sure what's going on.

Yesterday when I changed the battery, the car honked when I connected the cable to the negative terminal. Is that supposed to happen again? Also, my low oil pressure light came on a few days ago but I haven't driven the car too much after it came on. I filled up on oil yesterday. Could that sensor be affecting my car?

I removed the battery from my car and used a DMM and found that the voltage was 7.98V. That's abnormal correct?
