Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Taurus is overheating. I recently replaced the faulty thermostat and it
seemed fine. Now that summer is here it is overheating again. The coolant
return tube that comes from the top of the engine block is making a boiling
sound into the closed reservoir. The water pump is not leaking from the weep
hole and the radiator seems to be ok. The large lower tube at the front end of
the reservoir is not hot when running. The little tube just above the one
described is hot. the hose that goes from the pump to the thermostat housing
is also hot. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm in the process of flushing the
system with Blue Devil brand flush. Thanks for any advice.

Thanks Tom I appreciate your time and answer. It is strange but I'm not getting any overheating anymore. Is there any way there could have been a sort of bubble in the system? I had already added flush to the system on my last post, and I ran a lot of water through the system before I added the flush. Of course I will need to replace the tap water with distilled water and add 50% prestone. Do you have an idea of how much liquid is in the block when I drain the radiator? Thanks for your help my friend.

Yes there's always a certain amount of fluid in the block when you drain the radiator. Thanks again for your help Tom blessings to you and your family.

Hello Tom I finally found out what the problem was.... the radiator cap! We tested the block for leaks and did a pressure test also. It was that doggone cap all along. Pass it along. Thanks again my friend for the free advice.
