Have a Subaru mechanic give it an inspection before buying. The timing belt is probably due for a change so factor in the cost of a new belt installed. Look under the hood for a sticker indicating when the last time the belt was changed.

If you drive a lot the car will not last long. How many miles a year do you drive?

I have a 2010 Subaru Forester. I just got to the point that it was not worth the cost of repairs and time to retire it. It has 251,000 miles on it. A terrific car. I drive it a lot and across the country every year. Buying another used Subaru Forester.

My 2009 Subaru Forester just got a blown head gasket. Very common problem with this year and model and a very expensive price tag. If you do want to buy, get it looked at by a Subaru pro first.
