what does TPMS light mean ?

My 2010 Sonata has BOTH a "TPMS" warning in text which lights if the communication with the wheel pressure sensor and the car is lost and a second separate graphics warning symbol of a cross-section of a tire with an exclamation sign in it when a tire has low or pressure. So on mine, if the TPMS in text is lit, it is not necessarily low on pressure and may be OK to drive, just make sure to check the tires a lot and pay attention to the car handling and get it into a mechanic have it fixed.

OK - my 2007 Hyundai Sonata TPMS light goes on and off every time I change altitude - or so I thought. Paid $84. in Conway, AK to recalibrate in Jan; just TODAY paid $106 for the same thing! Has been on and off all year (while I was traveling). Explanation: "frequency related issues that effect the sensors" - nothing they can do!!! Nonsense? $200 in one year to correct an issue that - supposedly - can not be fixed! If I turn it off and there is a problem, it will be my fault - yes? Anyone else have this issue?

It means one of the sensors is bad. So you will have to check your tires the old fashioned way by looking for yourself. Until you get the sensor fixed. Mine is a 2008 Sonata.

We have the same problem. So far two of the 4 sensors have been replaced and a week after the last one being replaced the light is on again. All work has been completed at a Hyundai dealer for a lot - considering how cheap you can buy the part.

I've got the same problem as well. Two sensors replaced, light came back on a week later after $190 in replacement cost.

Check your tire pressure the old fashioned way, Don't waste $200,00 getting it fixed, it will always come back on again,

Same in my 2007 Sonata. After dealership changing all sensors and resetting multiple times, even your phone can interfere and cause light to come on. TPMS also illuminates every time I plug in cell phone charger. Simple fix... Pull fuse and buy a tire gauge. Good luck!
