The 2028 Land Rover Range Rover GT is the forthcoming fifth model line of the Range Rover lineup. It has a coupe SUV shape but Range Rover markets it as an electric grand tourer. Such a unique vehicle has no direct competitors, but it could draw buyers of the BMW X6, the Rivian R2 SUV, or the Porsche Cayenne Electric.

What’s New for the 2028 Land Rover Range Rover GT
The Range Rover GT is all-new. It will ride on parent company JLR’s new Electrified Modular Architecture (EMA) and will initially be available only with an electric powertrain. Land Rover has confirmed that a hybrid version will be added later in the model’s lifecycle. There is a lot yet to learn about the Range Rover GT, including power, range, suspension hardware, safety technology, standard and optional equipment, cargo space, and pricing.
Design
Land Rover has only shown the Range Rover GT in camouflage, so design details are vague, but the basic shape is clearly visible. The GT looks like a slammed crossover SUV with a fastback-style rear roofline. It has four side doors, a liftback tailgate, and sits wide, with the wheels pushed to the corners. It sports wide wheel flares and a lower body kit, and the nose has thin headlights, what looks like little or no grille, and vertical air intakes at the lower corners. If an SUV were ever going to qualify as a grand tourer as Land Rover claims the GT does, this is it.
Powertrain
So far, Land Rover has only announced that the Range Rover GT will come with an electric powertrain at launch and a hybrid powertrain at a later date. The EMA architecture has been reported to support an 800-volt electrical architecture, so it should charge quickly. It will likely have a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive (AWD) powertrain, and we’d expect the hybrid to come with AWD. Battery size and power figures are yet to come. As a grand tourer, the Range Rover GT is likely to prioritize handling rather than off-roading or towing, but Land Rover has said it will have “signature Range Rover breadth of capability”.
Interior
The Range Rover GT is a two-row, four-seat SUV. Land Rover hasn’t provided an equipment list, but some of the materials have been outlined. The dashboard is wrapped in a woven textile, and the cabin wears many sustainable materials. We’ll have to wait on details of the upholstery and what other features will be standard or optional, including seat heating, ventilation, and massage functions. While only two can sit in the rear, Range Rover says it has class‑leading second‑row legroom, though the company doesn’t define what that class is. Cargo space has also yet to be announced, but it should be a useful trunk despite the fastback-style rear roofline.
Technology
The Range Rover GT places a short, thin screen close to the base of the windshield to act as a digital instrument cluster that drivers will view above the steering wheel; the company hasn’t given a size for the screen. Another more traditional screen in the middle of the dash serves as the infotainment touchscreen and again, Land Rover hasn't given a size, but it looks as though it could be the 13.1-inch screen from the flagship Range Rover. The company says the textile on the dashboard is designed to conceal speakers, but hasn’t announced what type of system or how many speakers it will have. Expect all the usual connected technology, such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a satellite radio, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and wireless charging. The rear seat has a touchscreen between the seats, possibly for seat and infotainment controls.
