What’s New for the 2027 Audi S5
The 2027 S5 has a simplified lineup, with upgrade features now available in option packages. A Driver Assistance package comes with automatic and remote parking, a head-up display, and a dashcam. An Executive package adds Nappa leather sport seats with massage and ventilation, a Bang & Olufsen audio system with front headrest speakers, and matrix LED headlights with seven additional digital DRL signatures. A new Vorsprung package includes a 10.9-inch front passenger touchscreen, digital OLED taillights, heated rear seats, rear side-window sunshades, automatic and remote parking, a 3D view for the surround-view camera system, and an S Sport suspension system with adaptive dampers that lowers the ride height by 0.8 inches. A panoramic glass roof with variable light control is now a standalone option and, like other 2027 Audis, the S5 now includes three years/30,000 miles of scheduled maintenance.
Design
The S5 has many of the same design elements as the midsize S6 sedan. In fact, the A5’s roofline makes it look like a sedan, even though it’s actually a hatchback (or ‘Sportback’ in Audi terminology). Up front, skinny LED headlights point to a wide interpretation of the Audi singleframe grille with a hexagonal design and the Audi rings in the center, while triangular air intakes bracket the grille. Along the sides, subtle wheel arch bulges hint at a sporty vibe, as do the rising character lines between the wheels. The rear end is marked by a full-width LED light bar that's available as a digital OLED. It all rides on standard 19-inch wheels, with 20s available as an option. A Black Optic package comes with the 20s, as well as Anthracite-colored Audi exterior rings, dark chrome exhaust tips, and black exterior trim for the mirror housings, the door handle inlays, and the wheel center caps.
Powertrain
The S5’s engine is its main differentiator from the A5. It upgrades from a 268-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder to a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 that produces 362 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque. The engine is aided by a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive (AWD) system comes standard and the sole transmission is a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. EPA fuel economy ratings were not available at the time of writing, but expect the 2026 figures of 20 mpg city, 29 highway, 23 combined to carry over.

Interior
The feature set for the 2027 Audi S5 hadn’t been listed in full at the time of writing, but the available information suggested it would mirrors that of the 2026 model’s base Premium trim, on which leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, a power-adjustable steering column, tri-zone automatic climate control, and LED interior lighting came standard. Audi has announced the available upgrades offered in option packages, which include nappa leather sport seats with massage and ventilation, heated rear seats, and a panoramic glass roof with variable light control. The S5’s hatchback body style gives it useful cargo space that starts at 22.6 cubic feet with the rear seats up and expands to 37.5 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down, and it’s easy to access it because a power liftgate is standard.
Technology
The S5’s interior technology consists of a standard 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.5-inch center touchscreen, with an optional 10.9-inch touchscreen for the front passenger. Other standard features should mirror those of 2026, which included navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, a satellite radio trial, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a 10-speaker audio system. Audi has announced that 2027 tech options include a head-up display, a dashcam, and a Bang & Olufsen audio system with front headrest speakers.
