The Kia K4 was an all-new model in 2025, replacing the outgoing Forte. Even as a compact sedan, it offers lots of technology and plenty of available premium amenities. It primarily competes with the Honda Civic, the Toyota Corolla, the Nissan Sentra, and the Hyundai Elantra. The 2026 Kia K4 has five trims: LX, LXS, EX, GT-Line, and GT-Line Turbo.

What’s New for the 2026 Kia K4
This is the second year of the current, fourth-generation Kia K4 and, since it was all-new for the 2025 model year, it's a carryover model for 2026. The K4 introduced a new platform with a larger footprint, class-leading interior space, an available 30-inch combined display that houses a digital gauge cluster and an infotainment screen, digital key functionality, more premium features, and completely new design language.
Design
The 2026 Kia K4 features a sporty fastback design with distinctive front and rear lighting signatures, and standard LED headlights and taillights. The base LX trim has 16-inch steel wheels, while 16-, 17-, and 18-inch alloys are available on higher trim levels (the latter are only available on the GT-Line models). The base LX trim only has three color options: black, white, and gray. The upper trims add more color options, including red, blue, and a signature “Morning Haze”—think sage green. Snow White Pearl (available on all trims) and Currant Red (available starting on the LXS trim) are premium paints and cost $395. There are no appearance packages on lower trims, but GT-Line models have sportier accents.
Powertrain
The front-wheel-drive-only 2026 Kia K4 offers two four-cylinder powertrains: a 147-horsepower 2.0-liter and a 190-hp 1.6-liter turbo. The base engine is standard on the LX, LXS, EX, and GT-Line trims, while the turbo is exclusively available with the GT-Line Turbo. The 2.0-liter engine is mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT), while the turbo is paired with an eight-speed automatic. The base engine achieves an EPA-estimated 29 mpg in the city and 39 mpg on the highway, while the turbo delivers 26 mpg and 33 mpg, respectively.

Interior
The interior of the 2026 Kia K4 has a clean and modern feel. Black cloth seats are standard on the LX, and gray cloth becomes available on the LXS trim. Starting at the EX, black or gray leatherette seating surfaces are standard, and leveling up to the GT-Line models brings black-and-white or black-and-red leatherette seat options. The K4 is a five-passenger sedan, but as a compact car, it seats four more comfortably. It offers 14.6 cubic feet of trunk space, placing it near the top of its class for cargo capacity, bested only by the Honda Civic. A sunroof is only available on the GT-Line trims.
Technology
The Kia K4 is one of those cars that makes drivers forget it's an entry-level vehicle, thanks to its long list of standard premium features. Even the base LX trim level comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other standard tech includes remote start, a smart trunk, satellite radio, front and rear USB-C charging ports, and a four-speaker audio system. Available tech features include a 30-inch display that houses a 12.3-inch digital cluster and 12.3-inch infotainment screen, a six-speaker audio system, wireless phone charging, digital key functionality, Kia’s AI virtual assistant, and a premium eight-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.
