The INEOS Grenadier was introduced to the North American market as a 2024 model. Named after a pub in London and built as a spiritual successor to old-school 4X4s, the Grenadier targets vehicles such as the Ford Bronco, the Jeep Wrangler, the Land Rover Defender, the Toyota Land Cruiser, and the Mercedes-Benz G-Class. The 2026 INEOS Grenadier Station SUV has four trims: Grenadier, Fieldmaster, Trialmaster, and Black Edition.

What’s New for the 2026 INEOS Grenadier
Since the INEOS Grenadier was all-new in 2024, it didn’t receive any significant changes in 2025, so 2026 is the first year the model gets any notable updates. The biggest change is to the steering box hardware, which tightens the turning radius and improves on-road steering. Other significant changes include an improved HVAC system for faster heating and cooling, updated advanced driver-assistance systems, and a new Black Edition trim.
Design
The INEOS Grenadier has an upright, boxy stance reminiscent of the original Land Rover Defender, which isn’t surprising, since that vehicle was the inspiration for the Grenadier. It has a body-on-frame chassis, safari windows, flared fenders, and beefy all-terrain tires. Standard wheels are 17-inch steelies, but 17-inch alloys and 18-inch steel wheels are also available. In addition to the new Black Edition, the other Grenadier trims are available with a Black Pack that includes black grille strips, black roof rails, and dark front and rear skid plates.
Powertrain
The 2026 Grenadier is equipped with a BMW turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine that delivers 282 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. This is paired with an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission. This vehicle has permanent four-wheel drive (4WD), a two-speed transfer case, and a center differential lock. The Trailmaster trim, designed for the most extreme off-road conditions, also offers front- and rear-locking differentials. The EPA estimates that most Grenadier trims will get 15 mpg in the city and on the highway, while the Trailmaster will deliver 14 mpg in both situations. Maximum towing capacity is about 7,700 pounds.

Interior
Stepping inside an INEOS Grenadier almost feels like stepping into the cockpit of an airplane with all the switches and dials on the roof and the center console. Recaro seats are standard, with seating surfaces made from a mix of easy-to-clean cloth and vinyl. Black and gray leather options are available, depending on the trim. Though the Grenadier doesn’t come with a traditional moonroof, it does offer safari windows—standard on the Fieldmaster and available on other trims—which consist of two manually removable glass panels above the driver and passenger seats. The Grenadier Wagon seats five, and has 40.6 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second-row seats. Maximum cargo space is 71.8 cubic feet when the rear seats are folded flat.
Technology
The 2026 Grenadier comes standard with a 12.3-inch infotainment screen controlled by touch or a rotary dial, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, LED headlights, and USB-A and USB-C ports. Our favorite feature is the “toot” button, which is a softer, more polite horn meant to warn cyclists and pedestrians. Available tech features include heated power-adjustable exterior mirrors, heated windshield washer jets, puddle lamps, ambient lighting, and a compass with an altimeter. A premium sound system option adds a subwoofer and an uprated amplifier to the base system. One of the coolest tech features is the standard Pathfinder navigation system, which allows drivers to follow an existing GPX file (Follow Path), record a new GPX file (Record Path), or manually record a route (Roadbook).
