Introduced in the U.S. for the 2018 model year, the Alfa Romeo Stelvio has remained largely unchanged since its arrival. The 2026 model has just one trim level and sits in the compact luxury SUV segment, and primary competitors include the BMW X3, the Audi Q5, the Mercedes-Benz GLC, the Genesis GV70, the Volvo XC60, and the Porsche Macan.

What’s New for the 2026 Alfa Romeo Stelvio
The Stelvio received its last refresh in 2024, which included a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, a new grille insert, LED adaptive matrix headlights, and new taillights. For 2026, there is only one available trim level.
Design
The most distinctive feature of the 2026 Stelvio is the iconic Scudetto grille in the shape of an upside-down triangle, and it also has a more curvaceous body than most of its competitors. Standard wheels are 19 inches, but 20- and 21-inch wheels are also available. The 2026 Stelvio offers the Veloce Package, which includes both appearance and performance changes. It adds aluminum paddle shifters, gloss-red brake calipers, a front strut tower brace, a limited-slip differential, a rear sport diffuser, a Vulcano Gloss black body kit, and Veloce badging. It is through this package that the larger wheels are available, but for an additional cost.
Powertrain
Alfa Romeo discontinued the Quadrifoglio models in the U.S. after the 2024 model year, so for 2026, the Stelvio is sold with a single powertrain. It's a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 280 horsepower and 306 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive (AWD). The EPA estimates 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.

Interior
Eight years into its current iteration, the Stelvio's interior can feel a little dated. However, with a driver-focused cabin, standard leather seats, available sport seats, and a dual-pane panoramic roof, we’ll say it’s more timeless. The Stelvio is a five-passenger SUV, but on the small side of the compact luxury SUV segment, and it generally offers less rear-seat legroom and cargo space than its competitors.
Technology
The infotainment screen is 8.8 inches, and while it comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, both look very small on the screen. Other standard tech features include navigation, a 12.3-inch digital cluster, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and heated windshield washer nozzles. As part of the Interior and Audio Package, there is a 14-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system, while the Convenience Package adds a hands-free power liftgate in addition to some driver-assistance features.
