I totally loved my 2003 Subaru Legacy/Outback Wagon. I didn't think much of it at first...it looked like a "mom car" to me. (I am a mom but I like what I like) I didn't want a wagon. But the price was right, low miles, (I bought it in 2004) and I needed a new car.
This was an "all weather" vehicle. It has a Sport shift which made driving in the snow fun! I won't buy another vehicle that isn't 4WD. (The Nissan Maxima was purchased by my husband.) I loved my Subaru. I didn't worry about stalling out, loosing brakes, or the other million and one things that can go wrong with a car.
I drove this car all over and in the last 3 years, I put many, many miles on traveling to work. There are offices in 3 states. I was required to go to all offices whenever it was deemed necessary to do so. My Subaru ran great for 10 years. And, then it didn't.Apr 27, 2015

I wouldn't trade my car for anything new off the line from Subaru these days. Not that the newer cars are worse, but I am completely satisfied with the car I bought over 10 years ago. Cheers to another 5 - 10 years. Maybe the next one will be the XV Crosstrek.

I think overall this car is a very great value and buy. I love the interior and the well rounded power train. The 5 speed manual transmission is very precise and shifts are very smooth. The All Wheel Drive is a great system and is full time.Aug 21, 2012

Excellent car for every person, especially the power with manual transmission. I installed the McCintosh radio system the Outback VDC 3.0R and it is a direct fit and sounds great.
Super easy to do maintenance for all fluid changes. Tune ups are a breeze and lots of online forums, youtube videos to help with any know issues.

I love subaru's they are very reliable and good looking. The AWD is great. It always keeps me safe on the snow and ice. This is my second subaru and I don't think I will own anything else for a long time. Oct 04, 2011

I've really enjoyed owning and driving this car, and it never once failed me. When I left it out in a blizzard for a few weeks, after clearing off my windshield and rearview, I was able to drive right out. I didn't even shovel the snow. It has serious power, and in my opinion serious resolve.Jul 27, 2011

Performance - Acceleration and speed are mind blowing due to twin turbo set-up pumping out 280bhp with 4wd. 0-60 in 5.9 seconds.
Appearance - The RFRB bodykit sets it apart from other legacy's, even though they are rare enough anyway.
Cost of ownership - gas mileage isnt the best, but this car is not supposed to sip fuel, it guzzles it down, its a power car, not a prius. Also needs regular oil changes to ensure turbo is runnig to the best of its ability.
This car is super fun to drive.Nov 02, 2010

I love this car. Handling is great, pick up is good. Really like the interior. It would be nice if there were an automatic trunk opener on the entry fob. The car is a lot of fun to drive, handles great in traffic. Have not had any significant issues.May 10, 2010

Gotta love the AWD. Love the gear ratios (Manual), and i love the torque. missing some more go in the higher RPM range but i can get used to that.. i love the interior room, especially at the back. It could use a turbo tho. the engine feels like its underpowered for the size of the car..Sep 18, 2009

The best thing about this car is the AWD. Living in New
England, it is a perfect vehicle for winter driving while
having great gas mileage. I also love the steering radius.
It's a great zippy car to get around town, but is also nice
for traveling. The maintenance overhead is minimal,
although if something does need repairing, the cost can be
steeper than other vehicles. The '00- '04 generation looks
and drives great. They are a solid car and I would highly
recommend them.Jan 11, 2009

0-60 extremely quick. I'd say under 6, maybe even under 5.
Need some bigger cross slotted rotors and STI calipers in the front.
Handles like a dream.
As far as the body goes. It's perfect
Interior-all leather.
7 disc CD changer.
I Love It.
Its great to have a car that has 4 doors but handles like it could have two. Plus it has Subaru's AWD system so you know that no matter where you go or what time of year you go there, you'll always make your destination.
With 225/45/18 SpecB wheels on it, you know it looks damn sexy with the all black exterio/interior.
The transmission goes through all 5 gears like smooth sex.
If anyone is planning on buying a Subaru anytime soon. Definitely go with the GT Limited. It's incredible.Jul 30, 2008

I am a Subaru fan. The car is not a powerhouse, but since I've owned it, the only time I miss my full-size pickup is when I need to haul a sheet of plywood or drywall. Otherwise, you'd be amazed the things I've hauled home from Lowe's in this thing. Oh yeah...and it's great in the snow.Mar 31, 2008

AWD a I4 engine are a wonderful combination. This car we got new in the family, it is a wonderful winter car and inspires confidence. It's engine sounds vastly different then any other due to the way it is build horizontally. The car had a fantastic suspensing which goes over bumps more comfortably then any other I have ever experienced. Only real drawback is gas millage, very low due to the always engaged awd.Dec 11, 2007
