I own a 2010 Nissan Maxima at 190k miles and it has surpassed all expectations as a sports car sedan.
Not all years have lived up to the model brand.
Just recently needed a new transmission
Its not unheard of that this model reaches 300k miles.
Unfortunately Maxima models are no longer being produced. Altima has become the flagship brand with many of the much loved features Maxima has to offer. Being a Japanese car this was most likely a planned event years ago. Jul 07, 2024

Great car! Awesome features. The only thing I plan to add is a remote starter and a rear spoiler. Runs like a dream!Mar 06, 2024

The car was as advertised and has already completed a couple of 200+ mile trips. The only thing it didn’t have, but I expected, was a USB port. An easy fix. We were looking at SUVs, but the trunk and fold down rear seat provide enough space. It rides and drives great and is smooth on the road. Great price. Jul 08, 2021

Car has been great to own through 85k miles. Very minimal repairs or maintenance. Interior options and upgrades are way ahead of comparable vehicles. Handling and suspension could be improved. Exterior is very stylish and looks aggressive. Very good car for the price range. Apr 16, 2015

I love all the technology, The usb hok ups for my phone so I can play music. blue tooth has spoiled me, hand free, voice command. It is all so easy to use and you really get use to having so much information in the car. The navigation is also amazing to have if you ever travel. The car is also very comfortable for long trips.Mar 19, 2015

I love the 2014 Nissan Maxima. Everything about it is great. I am single, but I would keep this car until I started a family. It has speed but also great space for everyone in the car to fit comfortably. Jan 18, 2015

Most like the stylish body shape, panoramic sunroof, ample head & leg room, great sound system, quick speed acceleration, USB connection, Bluetooth capability, heated seats & steering wheel. Most dislike car sitting low to ground (Hard for tall people like me to get in & out of car)Dec 20, 2014

This car is one of the best affordable sedans. Very fast and handles like a sports car. the pick up is insane. The interior is very welcoming and the exterior is sleek with a unique design. I recommend this car over a camry or and accord.May 16, 2014

I love the room this car has to offer and the dependability of knowing it is safe to drive me and my family around in. It looks and drives just like an expensive luxury car. Clean interior and exterior, just as if it were bought brand new right off of the lot for the first time.May 15, 2013

Just a great car. The Maxima has masculine styling with an engine to back it up. Great car! We love the ability to get up to insterstate speeds quickly and without hesitation from the tranny. The CVT takes some getting used to, but overall it is a pleasant driving experience.Jan 17, 2013

This car is a sleeper in the fact that it is faster than most cars out there due to the combo of the 290 hp VQ35 and the CVT transmission. rack n pinion steering is nice to have as opposed to electric ps. cons are a bit poor build quality, with rattles and doing about 70-80 mph windows whistle. tire pressure monitor never goes off. other than that awesome carJan 12, 2012

Performance:
Firstly it has 300 bhp (near enough and 4 driving modes with paddle shifters. Then top it off with a DSG style gearbox for smooth and sports modes. Acceleration can be steady or pin you to your seat. On the highway at 120km/h there is minimal noice as youd expect from a luxury car and this one is a borderline Infiniti. Fuel economy isnt too bad either from this 3.5l V6 engine. A full tank can return 700km if driven respectfully or around 300 if not.
Build Quality
As with most things Japanese it has a solid feel to it. No wobbly interior parts and the finishing of the leather sports seats is exquisite. The faux walnut fascia surrounding the transmission and cubby hole could do with a re-think though. Bose sound system as well as a touch screen Sat NAv, iPod control and built in 20Gb HD ensures that the car is stacked with toys. Auto dimming mirros, electric rear blind, electric windows, seats, central locking keyless entry & start and even cooled drivers seating. Did I mention front and rear sensors AND a rear camera too!
Appearance
The car has a sporty, aggressive look that could have easily swayed more to the world of boy racers if the spoiler or body kit were any more exaggerated. it can sit alongside the likes of the higher end luxury cars and still carry its own. The alloys are a very nice touch too.
Cost of ownership
It was a reasonably priced car when new AED134k. The same vehicle now in a 2012 model is around the AED140k mark. The car came with registration, insurance and a service package thrown in (till 20,000km) and I extended it to 60k. So far it hasnt missed a beat as you would expect from a new car. Fuel can be a probelm if you have a heavy right foot, but on the whole not so bad.
Fun Factor
The car can be a family sedan and then switches to this sporty roadster style sedan when needs to. The paddle shifters help to alleviate those boring drives and can engage the driver easily. I can see why some people would take this around a trackNov 30, 2011
