Beautiful Classic Collectible Car as time goes on will probably increase in value and desirability. These Like most Mercedes from yesteryear were well built and fairly expensive this one was about 58000 sticker price when new so they are comparatively cheap to buy now say about 10 to 20% of that sticker on an average dealJan 01, 2015

Like having three cars in one. What's the weather? Pick a configuration and you are ready to roll. Nice, stiff driver. No slack in anything. My only complaint is the seat does't go back far enough as it hits the door pillar. I guess Germans must be shorter than me.Nov 06, 2014

MB can do no wrong in my opinion...Kept long enough in great shape, a 1989 560SL will pay you back...I'm sure as long as it's kept in superb condition...It will never be a Gullwing, but look at the 190/300/Pagodas etc... Keep it nice..it will pay you back-Jun 28, 2014

I bought this car because I have always thought it was one of the best looking Benz's. It has always been garaged and has low mileage. Maintenance costs are reported high, but if it isn't used, this is not an issue. I drive it around enough to keep the fuel fresh and the battery charged.Jun 15, 2014

Beautiful car and fun to drive. Definitely an attention grabber, very stylish! Awesome car for top down driving. Good power, handles and brakes well. Has good leg room for driver, I am 6'1" and was always very comfortable driving this classic.Jun 21, 2013

Beautifully designed and engineered car.
The sparkling Burgundy metallic paint against the stunning creme leather interior will catch the attention, garaged all the time. No sun spots or sun damage anywhere.
Both tops are in excellent original shape. Dark creme color soft top was special ordered from the first owner. Oct 20, 2012

This is a 1983 380SL, this thing didn't have one so i improvised with the 1989 500SL thing. In any case I love this car. It's a convertible that comes with a hardtop you can put on for the winter, the 3.8 engine has enough power yet is quite economical and its just easy to drive.Sep 09, 2011

Fuel injected 2.8 straight six.
Has both hard and soft top
179Kw, beautiful handling car very rar four speed manual, only available in the 280SL, all the V8's are fitted with 3 speed auto.
Comes standard with power windows, power steering and air conditioning.
Appearance of the W107 is a lttle more bulkier than the earlier W113.
W107 chassis was the longest chassis of the SL class, starting in 1974 and last model in 1989.
Costs of owning 1 is reasonable compared to the earlier W113 "Pagoda" and classic W121 190SL.Jul 21, 2010

Fantastico! In every respect! I Loved the small convertible, perfect for a leisurely drive. It's sleek design is a classic. The 450 SL has the most comfortable ride I think I've ever had. Try it and see for yourself! You'll love it.Oct 21, 2009

What an awesome, great ride for 30 yr old car. Its really impressive the technology that was available in 1978.
very smooth, very quick, 4.5 liter v-8, gets about 18 MPG.
Top is a little tricky getting off, and the backseat is very small, but the front ones are comfy.

Absolutely gorgeous a great addition to my collection. This is one car that I would probably never part with. I have yet been able to find out how many of these cars still exist, since so few were actually made. Any one that owns one of these vehicles should feel extremely special.Oct 07, 2008

Beautiful classic car. 30 years old next year. Smooth V8 power. Nice highway cruiser. Well built solid car. Rare colour. Leather interiro with upgraded sound system. In one year of ownership have only replaced a leaky gas line. Everytime I'm out for a drive it turns heads. Many compliments on the appearance of the car. Very fun to drive.Sep 06, 2008

This car is a real looker, even at 35 years old! Very fun car. This big V-8 engine has lots of power and loves to stop at the gas station. Practicality goes out the window with this one. Realiability, reputation, styling and performance are impeccable. Great collector car! Love it!Aug 12, 2008

I never really rated these cars, I bought this for my wife when we came back from Australia. But once I got it fixed up she was too nervous to park it anywhere as its so nice. This is a Euro-spec car with the small chrome bumpers and square headlamps, as originally designed. The car is brilliant on the freeway and nice around town, built like a tank and beautiful. Old enough to be "classic" it is modern enough to use every day comfortably.Mar 19, 2008

One of the best looking car ever. A car of style and elegance. Cruise at 130 /140 effortlessly. Bit noisy with the wind though ! Amazing technology on board for a car of that age. Cheap enough to buy and own but make sure you put the right price to buy one and crawl underneath before to see what it looks like from below as surprise can occur. With the right brakes and suspension, you have a very fun and gorgeous car to drive. 6 cylinders versions would probably spoil a lot of the fun (280/300). Jan 28, 2008

A true modern classic, it was produced for 18 years, making it the longest production vehicle in MB history. It's a bit heavy but remains fast and powerful. It has two tops: Hard and Soft which let you have 3 cars in one!Jan 10, 2008

Many modern cars can out perform the R107 family of roadsters but, none quite have the star appeal and appearance of old money that the R107 roadsters brought to Mercedes. This 1989 Mercedes Benz 560 SL is 19 years old, but for a car of that age it had many amazing features including a standard airbag, both hard and soft tops, and many other desirable features. Over all the power was strong for a car from the 1980’s it had a 227 hp 5.6 liter V8 power plant that had a top speed of 137 miles per hour. Its 0-60 time was around 7.2 seconds. (Fairly impressive when you consider that it’s a fairly heavy car.)
Sadly being 19 years old and a Mercedes products maintenance has become a problem and rather costly. Despite the short comings I truly love this car. It is fun to drive and turns heads where ever I go.

Everything a car needs, it has got the looks, the class, the engine and the style. Even though its way older than 20 years it is a marvelous drive, very comfortable and everything one could once upon a time expect from a Mercedes - legendary build quality!Jan 04, 2008
