It is a Honda. It is fun to drive. The fuel mileage was, at one road trip, about 50 MPG. The usual mileage was about 35. This kind of economy is way ahead of its time. The real value of this car is the handling. Also, noteworthy: it is reliable.Nov 22, 2013

I liked how easy it was to work on this thing. I hated how easy it was to dent it or break off a piece of plastic though. I sold it for more than I paid for it so it was ok in the end. I did have to sink a bunch of money in to it after the timing belt broke.Feb 20, 2013

Fun little retro runabout! super easy to drive, faster than a Mini or a VW Beetle but more economical than both of them, enough room to do anything with it, sounds like an automatic hair dryer and the parts are like rocking horse poo, but it puts such a big smile on your face, its all worth it.Apr 09, 2012

a good car, 1300cc engine with 12v gives you some acceleration. Braking is only
front disc. nice driving
experience providing safety to driver. 5wd gear shifting, fuel economy ( 16km / ltr
). Interior is perfect and driver has plenty of space to be free. Body is also 100%,
with metallic grey 2k paint.Nov 09, 2011

" My 1985 Honda Civic was a Car Of Cars !, The Silver exterior, with Grey Velor interior was one of the nicest 4 door Honda's I had been in in 1993. I had several friends who owned Honda Preludes, And Accords, The Car's performance was not realized until I had The motor tuned, and such, but that was the beginning of a n ongoing assault Of my wits. The car lived At Plaza Honda In Brooklyn N.Y. The service Dept personell all knew me by name. It had to be taken back 27 times!Jun 26, 2010

1983 Black Honda Civic 1500 "S". Pocket rocket! Rev happy engine, precise 5 speed shifter. Comfortable for long distances in part because of "S" only seats. Averaged 42 MPG for the life of the car. Absolutely reliable, not one problem in 128,000 miles. Still looked and ran like new when I traded it for a Miata. Wish I still had the Honda!Apr 29, 2010

$650 beater purchased during 08' Summer. perhaps the most reliable car i have ever bought. gets from A to B without complaint. Car costs close to nothing to run. Peppy 1.5L SOHC motor great on gas around town, with a long throw 5speed OD tranny. hauls lots of cargo, and people in comfort. simple, spartan vehicle. Mar 18, 2010

My first Honda. From 1984 but with semi automatic
transmission Hondamatic. Good acceleration, good handling
for 1984. Fuel consuption 5,6 l per 100 km on highway. Easy
for repair except transmission. Even small car, good safety
zones, tested by one small crash from back, which make car
shorter for 3 cm.Feb 07, 2010

Outstandingly fun to drive. Dependable and economical (fuel mileage, parts, and service). Performance is zesty, good roadability and feel. Front wheel drive provides excellent traction in snow and ice (I reside in Alaska.) Fuel injection is a must. Also slightly oversize studded tires round out this rough and ready roadster.Jan 22, 2010

With the performance of a D16A1 Twin cam 1.6 this super light breadvan will suprise you! This car has been completely re-wired to OBD0 with a complete carb to fuel injection conversion. Add a black dashboard, S2000 Start button, 3G Prelude Si Seats, and this is one of the most unique 3G Civics on the road.Nov 18, 2009

It was a good collage car. Not the coolest car around until a few years later but it was good. No much power and handling was really bad. Ift will be a good first car for a student. Get it with A/C.Jul 24, 2009

This was the "FE" model hatchback and was the 1st auto to have an EPA highway rating of 55 mpg!
I put about 70,000 miles/year for 3 years - only service work performed - brakes and clutch.
The actual mpg wasn't that far of!!!May 25, 2009

1983 Honda civic. it has now 150K and i bought it with 113k 4years ago. I've had to do some small repares on it but other than that it is pretty tip top as far as a 25 year old daily driver goes. what more can i say , it was cheap ,it's cheap to drive and thing still goes and goes.Aug 24, 2008

This car replaced my 1980 postal jeep and gave me a few solid years of service before getting donated to the American Lung society. It was cool to drive a miniature station wagon. It was a blast to drive, yet a little bit scary as I would barrel down route 202 in western mass with a crew of friends crammed in the back like a clown car.Aug 01, 2008

Has a 1.5L carborated engine. It moves. You can pretend to be a ricer if
needed. It is very reliable and always works. Apr 25, 2008

This yellow beauty is sought after by many car enthusiasts for its auto-crossing heritage. The solid rear axel and the overall light weight of the car make it perfect for moving around cones or small children on tricycles. However, with its weak and carbed engine, this thing takes a while to get to speed. It is in fact so slow, there is no tachometer. Mod away and you get a rocket. Drop a B16 into it and you have a ten second machine. Apr 15, 2008

Cherry red, 5 speed, 4.10 final drive ratio and a rear ant-sway bar.On! And Michelin 185's stock! Ran about 18.3 seconds in the 1/4 mile. Feb 18, 2008

I didn't actually do this... it was a great little car, still going (after being written off at least three times and almost half a million kilometers later). Apparently it handled better than the porsches of the same year (1986).Jan 17, 2008

My first car. I owned one from january to may 2001. During that time the car was reliable. And had a quite nice engine. But the car was about 15 years old at that time and that fact was smellable. Aswell as the springs were bad as some other parts aswell.Jan 02, 2008

This was car was dope! I drove it back and forth to Chicago twice! I pad $500 for it and didn't have to do a thing to it until it finally blew a gasket and busted a lifter.Dec 31, 2007

This was my first car when I went to Uni. It had been in an accident previously, so had the newer (more powerful) engine dropped into the older lighter body - hence it went pretty fast! (Well, for an 80's civic, anyway). A very fun car to drive - feels like you're racing all the time. Also very forgiving. But with all old cars it was starting to get a bit tired and needing ongoing maintenance.Dec 28, 2007
