Excellent value, smooth transmission, great power, and the comfort level is phenomenal! Very spacious seating. I traded up from an 03 Tundra Ext-Cab, which is less truck, BUT, its significant for me...because I am a die-hard Totota man! Dec 21, 2022

The 2013 [and later] Sierra 1500s are great trucks. They are rugged, dependable and easy on the eyes. I have owned more than one of the big four full size American made trucks and the GMC keeps me coming back. My only issue would be the cloth used in the seating is hard to keep clean. Because of this I opt for leather. GMC is number one in my book.Feb 27, 2021

This is a good truck crew cab great for the family powerful Motor good for towing boat 4x4 Do not worry about winter just select 4 wheel drive and this truck will drive through the snow. I like the 5.3 liter engine very reliable lots of room in cab you can adjust your seat. good CD player AM FM . 200 km drive cost me about $25.00 gas Feb 25, 2021

Great overall truck, it’s a truck that can both look good and get the job done. Despite being a 2008 it doesn’t fail to get people to turn their heads thinking it’s a much newer truck. Jan 19, 2021

Love this truck. The power is impressive, even when loaded up and towing a trailer. Great exhaust tone from the manufacturer. Seats are comfortable, even with trips in excess of 20 hours. No complaints about power, comfort, handleing, or looks.Mar 17, 2015

I love just about everything about my truck outside of only one thing, the 2008 Denali only offered 2-wheel or AWD. I really would rather have the choice of AWD, 4-wheel high, or 4-wheel low range. But the truck leaves little else to be desired.Jun 20, 2014

I'm told the 2012 Sierra 1500 remains one of the best trucks in its category.
In terms of capability (like towing), body style and power, the Sierra 1500 is right up there with the competition. The GMC is known for its smooth and quiet ride which makes it a logical choice as a long-distance road-tripper.
It is a half-ton full-size pickup that is offered in standard cab, extended cab and crew cab body styles (I have the extended cab).
Upgrades like 20" Chrome wheels, Bluetooth, and Climate Control are "must haves" for those that are not only concerned about appearance but enjoy conveniences that the latest technology can provide.May 04, 2014

Gmc builds a quality truck at a great price. Their reliability is unmatched and the number of gmc's still on the road is the proof. I will drive this truck for 2 more years then I'm gonna trade for a new one again!Mar 27, 2014

Has an annoying rattling noise at about 2000 rpm. I've heard it could be the catelytic converter cover? Pretty solid truck otherwise. Seems to have plenty of power for a V-6 engine and can hold its own pulling a loaded down 6x10 utility trailer.Mar 17, 2014

You pay a premium for the style and features of the Denali trim line, but it's worth it. I've loved this truck since the day I got it and am still very happy with it. That's saying a lot since I'm a gadget guy and love the new features you can get on newer models. I have added cameras (front, back and sides), sound proofing (though it was already quiet), and an aftermarket bluetooth phone connection. The GMC Nav isn't the greatest, but it's handy if you don't want to use your smart phone.Feb 23, 2014

I liked the features of the vehicle best. I love the rain sense wipers, they work very well. I like the remote start which is nice in cold weather. As well as the heated seats. The power of the 5.3 is good.Feb 14, 2014

Great over all truck and reliable also.. Easy to drive and looks good going down the road.
We have taken this on a few road trips and it was very comfortable and fuel economy was over 20 MPG on the freeway..
I also used it to pull a trailer ..I hauled my Jeep and it pulled like a dream..Love the tow haul button with the Alison transmission. I had no issues at all. great Truck for towing heavy loads..Nov 13, 2013

This truck is excellent, huge amount of power and torque, great for towing large boats.
With the dual exhuast it sounds excellent, I put it into auto shift when driving short distances and it shifts great no jumps or hiccups between gears.Sep 16, 2013

Nice family truck. Took 5 vacations with it. We take an annual vacation. We had it since 8/23/2007. Lovely interior and its leather. This one's a Denali! Isn't that nice? It was comfortable. It can reach 0-60 in 7.3 seconds. Fast truck!May 28, 2013

This truck is fun to drive, powerful acceleration, good braking, Z71 made for good handling, comfortable and roomy for long trips, can pull a decent sized boat without even huffing. Off-roading is a sinch with this beast. The start-up sound of the exhaust is awesome. When I stand behind the truck and use my remote start it gives me the shivers!Jan 10, 2013

Overall, we're pleased with our truck. It does what we needed it for and except for the gas mileage, worn tires and the many small things breaking. The ride comfort is very impressive for a truck. The seats are cheaply made and don't offer and adjustable lumbar support. Also the bed does dent easily if you try to load from the side.Dec 06, 2011

Great truck. I wish the bed was 6 feet but other than that great power and smooth ride. Like all factory vehicles i needed new tires at 30k. I really like that GMC went to rear drums and removed the rear pads and rotorsJan 30, 2011

5.3L V8 has plenty of power. Acceleration is acceptable for a full-size pickup. Braking is particularly good. Handling is exceptional considering the width and length of the vehicle.
The vehicle itself is a quality vehicle. No issues related to build quality.
Appearance is, in the only words I can think of, manly. It looks like a pickup a man would drive.
Gas mileage is not the best, but considering that it has a 5.3L V8, you should not expect great gas mileage. Currently getting 14.8 MPG. With a 26 gallon (U.S.) fuel tank, you can still get to where you need to go, although the price to fill the pickup can be high. The Active Fuel Management feature, however, is great (switches between 4 and 8 cylinders depending on driving conditions).
It's a fun vehicle. Loaded on the inside. I don't have a navigation system primarily because I don't need one. Sound system is great. Although it's a pickup, it doesn't drive like one. My pickup is Stealth Gray in color, and I can tell you that a number of people have asked me where I purchased my pickup simply because of how good my pickup looks. Enough said.Oct 24, 2008

I love my truck. It has the power I need to pass or rolls along to save gas. It's goes from V-8 to V-4, so its great on gas. I love the on-star and in car phone. It has a great sound system, with Bose speakers. Leather light tan interior and brown on the outside. I has everything I could want. I have had a GMC the last 3 trucks I have owned and I wouldn't own anything else.Jul 20, 2008
