Pros: Fun and comfortable to drive, with good vision due to high seat position and fishbowl windows. Good response to the gas pedal. Decent turning radius. Great space!
Cons: Clunky, heavy doors. Annoying “features” that are hard to disable such as door chimes, cargo lights, auto lock and unlock, lights on when locking and leaving. Mar 18, 2023

I got the basic, short wheel base XL Transit. This is a perfect vehicle for making utilitarian trips around town. My wife uses it for delivering crates of food to the local food bank. I use it for hauling plants and garden supplies. It drives like a car and is good on gas. A spiffy little vehicle for running errands.Feb 25, 2023

Unique vehicle with peculiar proportions and high versatility. Great combination of passenger comfort, space, cargo capacity and a good gas mileage.
Comparable to minivans but with better gas mileage, other than hybrids.Jul 28, 2022

The towing capability on the older models is far superior than the newer ones only problem with older models make sure you look at the roof for rust surface rust especially in FloridaMay 04, 2022

Common features, Good value. Missing a dip stick for the transmission. Rides very rough over bumps in the road. I can compare it to the 2015 Ford Transit Connect.Feb 15, 2022

I found the passenger version more appealing than the cargo version. Many more options, far far more comfortable of a ride. The noise, bouncing ride, loud noise and lack of leg room in the cargo van made my days long and wore me out by the end of the day. I have to drive many miles a day and this van has made it great! A few mods, like a cargo floor made of melamine, 2-2x12 boards along the sides, and a wire grate from a chrome shelf velcro to the headrests and a few plastic totes for loose items, has made this a very workable work van.. then I can easily convert to a family wagon when needed. I also found the wagons to be lower miles and well cared for. As opposed to the cargo vans that were in accidents, had very high miles, and we’re often more expensive. The 2.5L engine is the way to go though. The 2.0L is too under powered. I would avoid that and the new 8 speed transmission they are using to try and make a 2 L engine work again.
This is my second transit connect. First one was a 2011 first gen. This one seems to have addressed the issues such as power, leg room, and looking like I was driving a toaster! I would recommend this truck to others. Sep 11, 2021

If you are considering the Transit Connect, buy the LWB model and the 2.5L engine as it is a little sluggish in heavy traffic.; especially if you have the cargo compartment full of parts/tools. Great on gas and the seats are comfortable, but the ride is a little bumpy and noisy. A great option for a work truck but not so much so for a daily driver! I am upgrading the radio to a gps/navigation model and ensure you have a back up camera as there are several blind spots with the cargo model.Mar 28, 2021

The front cabin is like a car. The rear cabin has plenty of storage space. My van has all the storage shelves from a contractor and works great for me.
It is easy to drive and park. I like all the safety features such as back up camera , reverse beeper and parking assist.
I like the easy entry into front and rear cabins.Dec 17, 2020

Lots of features to recommend it as a good everyday car along with a travel/hauling vehicle.
Fits in a small garage, easy to maneuver, good gas mileage, for starters.
For me it won out over the Dodge Ram Promaster and the Nissan NV200. Nov 24, 2020

Great in all aspects except it is missing all wheel drive. In the northern Pennsylvania area, all wheel drive is valued.Aug 19, 2020

For our purposes, which is to haul our heavy ebikes, and the occasional camp out for two, it is perfect. We will be modifying it a little over time to reduce road noise and improve temperature control in the back. For now we are thrilled to get out of the house more and micro adventure.Aug 07, 2020

My wife wanted this vehicle for 2 years and I declined to purchase it due to less than stellar reviews. I finally purchased the 2013 XLT Premium wagon in Mars Red, [very rare], for her and she has never been happier with any vehicle I ever bought for her. I feel this Transit Connect was the right vehicle at the right time. The 2014 Transit Connect will NOT appeal to the small commercial vehicle market as the 2010 thru 2013 has. Most complaints were of poor acceleration and top speed. Don't you know, business owners want to limit workers driving speed and also have a vehicle that stands out from the crowd for advertising. This one does both.Jun 14, 2013
