This is a great truck if you keep it maintained. My truck spent its first 13 years in the sierra mountain taking on the winter snow and ice. The past 5 years have been down by the beach enduring the salt air. No major problems with the truck just regular maintainence. People still ask me what year it is since it is in such good shape. I wouldn't buy any other brand after having this truck. The gas mileage is low, but that was the range back in the 90's. It has hauled wood, trailers, boats and more without any problems and it hugs the snow bound roads in 4-wheel drive. It's a keeper.Apr 22, 2014

I absolutely love my truck, it currently has 200,000 miles and still runs amazing, only issue is the gas mileage, which is expected for a truck an esp. with the straight 6 engine in it. That being said i can tow anything and never think twice about it. It's simply an awesome machine and definitely built Ford tough!Feb 26, 2014

I bought it new in 1995, have driven over 215,000 miles with little repair work. Still runs great and owns the road. The long turning radius makes is cumbersome to park in malls but comfortable on the road. Good car.Dec 31, 2013

This truck has over 200,000 miles on origanial motor and trans. All miles were
with bigger tires and without the speedometer calibrated. Truck starts first time
any time and will get you anywhere with plenty of power to spare. This truck
has never been stuck and I don't see it happening any time soon.May 01, 2012

performance- not quite there yet
build quality- needs work
appearance- looks good but not great some rust
cost of ownership- cheap parts descent gas mileage
fun factor- i love driving it small turning radius easy to drive. just plain funNov 06, 2011

This truck has loads of power as it is. The 5.0 really kicks in at high rpms. Gas
mileage is pretty low due to no overdrive since the tranny is slipping. But loads of
fun overall. Easy to get power out of the truck and no problem blasting past other
drivers.May 09, 2011

5.8 liter v-8 from ford: 100 percent body kit. wood interior. dark hunter greenish-blue. i caught one hell of a deal. easily modified engine, motor, body mods, and interior mods. i can take a heavy truck, and light up every fast car that tries to defeat me.....love at first sight. there you have it... Drives well for an older truck, reliability has been very good, drives when I
need it, easy to care for, handles all kinds of weather and conditions just
fine. I like the look of the older 150's. Been a great truck for us. Feb 24, 2011

i absolutely love this truck, the 4 wheel drive is awesome to have and works great. The engine has plenty of power and goes pretty good for a truck. Its a blast to drive. The interior is wicked comfortable and simple. The seats are very comfortable, i have no problem driving 4 hours sitting in the seat. Backseat is kind of small.Jan 02, 2011

it had a 5.8 liter 351 windsor under the hood and dana front and rear axles with 3.55 gears. the center console flipped up and became a seat. it had maual locking hubs which are better than auto lockers. it was cheap to maintain and the fix. it never broke down on me.Aug 26, 2010

Performance - Great for what I need it for, it's a truck and it does it's job. Brakes
are ok not perfect but not bad. Average I guess. Handles great. Build Quality -
Great! No squeaks or rattles, just needed to replace air filter and one light when I
got it. Appearance - Awesome! It's got 30's right now but I wanna put 34's or 35's
and a 3 inch lift on it sometime soon. Interior is great except one little tear in the
driver seat. Cost of Ownership - Mileage I have know idea. Maintenance is good
and easy. Fun Factor - FUN AS HELL TO DRIVE!! Enough said!Aug 21, 2010

it just keeps on going, comfortable to drive. it's just like an old friend, there when you need it most. with the 5.0 there is not much performance or gas mileage. the 4x4 does a grat job and the truck has neverf stranded me.May 19, 2010

absolutely awesome truck. 4x4 makes it nice cuz it'll go anywhere and pull anything. i will never get rid of this truck. i have pulled more than 3times this trucks weight with it, and had absolutely no trouble with it at all.Nov 12, 2009

For truck that weighs over 4,000 pounds, the acceleration is phenomenal. I have clocked myself at about 7.0 seconds from 0- 60. The other surprising thing considering its weight is how well it brakes. It has saved me from a handful of accidents because of its stopping power. Towing and load carrying abilities are excellent for its class. I have loaded that thing up, plus towed a trailer and it still accelerates on climbs. The biggest downside to this vehicle is the gas mileage with a max of 14 stock. With a new muffler to replace the old one, I have seen mileage increase a mile and a half to 2 miles per gallon.
With my odometer reading at under 60,000, I'm convinced that I will be able to keep the truck that I got from my Granddad for a long time. Oct 03, 2009

the body is rusting but its still looks pretty sexy its my second favorite body style of ford pick ups the 4x4 works really good im glad ford still used lock outs on there front ends in the 90's unlike the othersSep 29, 2009

Great truck, powerful engine, quick throttle responce and shifts very firmly, can load 1000+ pounds in the bed and keep on going doesn't get the best gas mileage but that can be expected in a 4500lb vehicle that's got a big engineSep 08, 2009

The 351w has a moderate hp, but massive low end torque, which is what you want in any practical pick-up. It's been in the family since '92 and having been driven on crappy northern roads and never seeing a day in a garage, it's held up very well, having just rolled over 256K as of 8-13-09. Engine still runs strong as ever, 400/351w is ford's best small block and completely bullet proof. I am now a fan of the ford Automatic overdrive trans, but since im going in excess of 80 fairly often, i sometimes wish i had that 5th gear. Mileage bites, but then again, back in 92, gas was about a buck a gallon. For it being a relatively new EFI system on an old iron block at the time, it's given me almost no grief considering its been left in the elements nearly everyday since it rolled out of the factory. It's been a daily driver for years. as for the fun factor- it's not exactly a hot rod, its a truck that with full tanks and the driver on board is pushing nearly 7000 lbs gvw. still, it hugs the road and is very predictable. How ever, if you've seen me drive, you know how much i put it through it's paces. Given the opportunity, I'd get another model like this in a heart beat, but only with the 351.Aug 16, 2009

Built Ford tough and is the classic box body style. It has great acceleration because I added a hypertech power programmer to the V8. Also just tinted the windows, and added a billet grill. The truck gets looks and props all the time. Plus it's paid for!Jul 17, 2009

One of the fastest vehicles I have ever owned. Heavily modified 351, over 600 hp on the bottle, was my daily driver for several years. Tow, haul, work, race, family carrier, great overall vehicle. It needs some work now, and when I can afford it, it will be back to its once great form!Jun 25, 2009

Pretty Good Vehicle, It runs good after 76,000 miles. it does'nt cost very much anymore. The dual gas tanks are good if the pump doesnt go out. mine is still working. This truck has good acceleration and speed. I would recommend it as a work truck.Apr 19, 2009

Wish I still had this truck, great ride and did the job. Had the inline 6 in at and ran like a champ. Didn't have to do any engine work to it until almost 100,000 miles. If I could have this truck back I would take it. Also easy to work on.Nov 19, 2008

It aint pretty, but she's a real work horse. Dependable is a understatement, this truck has hauled more stuff for more people than I can remember, My only regret is that FORD doen't make a straight 6 anything anymore, too bad one of the most soild motors ever. If they had a straight 6, I'd be a repeat customer.Oct 21, 2008

It's a great truck strong built and very good in the mud and snow. it has a few problems but everything that you buy will. It hauls a load with ease and it's a 5 speed so it makes it easier. it's just a half ton but it's a very good truck and hasn't really gave me much trouble. I do think that ford is a stronger built truck than all the other dealers Aug 05, 2008

the truck is the last year of the inline 6 cylender. it
also has the 5 speed manual so it has the best gas
milage of all the trucks i have ever driven. she hasnt
had an engine rebuild yet and has over 250000 miles
on it and is still running strong. she is a sand stone
color so its very easy to maintain.Jul 31, 2008

Well worth the money I paid for it. Has over 276,000 miles on it, very few problems. Most occurred after 198,000 miles. Gas mileage could be better. Love the 8' bed. Eventually will get a lift kit and turned into a mudder!!!Jul 14, 2008

I love my truck. It is a Mark III conversion, so I have full leather and wood inside. There are hardwood oak panels on my doors, dash, and it has a full overhead wooden console with limo lights and a power, yes, power rear sliding window. The truck is dropped a couple inches, and has a full exterior body kit, as well as the custom wheels. the sticker on this truck was 34,000$ back in 95. Not too many of these trucks were made, and it is, in my eyes, the precursor to the Harley edition f150. Most of the Mark III's came with the 5.0, but mine has been graced with the 5.8!!! Awesome power!!!

This is the first truck I've bought that was newer than (at most) 20 years old. So far, it's taken absolutley everything I've thrown at, including but not limited to, personel carrier at a 50+ acre grass/wildland fire, hauling/pulling loads in excess of 6 tons (for a half-ton!), and treating it like a hot-rod on the streets. I've only owned 1 tougher truck than this (it was a 1978 version of this one, actually) and it only got 5 Miles Per Gallon. Considering fuel prices now-a-days, my measley 12 Miles Per Gallon is not bad for what I put this truck through. If I could fix one thing on this thing, it would definitly be the transmission, which (when I bought it) I was unaware of its deteriated condition and it has only gotten worse from there. a ton of lower end torque, pretty good mid range hp, about 9 to 1 compression ratio, very reliable 4WD, and great ground clearence. with my michelin LTX tires (not in photo) it sits about 26" off the ground. 5 litre engine that with my simple mods puts out about 330 lbs ft of torque at about 2,000 RPM. has a smoothe 5 speed manual trans with a fairly light clutch. ENGINE IS INDESTRUCTABLE!May 25, 2008
