Bought for $3000 with the 5.0 V8 and 4-speed manual. Great fun to drive and will definitely do whatever job you ask it to do. However, rust and fuel economy are my biggest gripes with it. If you can look past those two, you have a very reliable and robust truck that will last forever and wont dieOct 03, 2023

the five liter motor makes great power the way it is it handles well for a truck so far the cost to maintane has been low a few odds and ends but not bad for a 27 year old truckJul 23, 2012

Has been a decent truck for me. Needed some work when I purchased it. Now have it running great and use it almost every day. Has a stock 5.0 engine in it. Have replaced the carb, ignition module, fuel pump and battery. Other than that it is all original.Nov 03, 2011

Good on gas and plently of torque for off-roading. Good lookin truck and its cheap to fix( if you do it yourself). All the mechanical parts of the truck will last longer than your own life, and you can take it pretty much anywhere.Feb 24, 2010

A great truck that is now over 25 yrs old so qualifies as an antique. Has only had one owner who maintained vehicle excellently. Has a bench seat, a/c, long box and low miles of 89000 km. It's all original. Feb 06, 2010

AWESOM TRUCK!! The performace is great, because it has the 5.0 from a mustang. The build quality is typical 80s: cloth seats and bits of faux wood EVERYWHERE. The appearance is boxy, yet rugged. I tis very fun. I love it!Jan 07, 2010

The trucks a beast, it's a 302, except with elderbrock intake, carb, and heads, plus a set of unknown brand headers. Its a 4 speed 4x4 with granny low and yesterday we had 16+ inches of snow where i live plus the drifts built up in front of my truck and the truck started immediatly and drove right down my country drive way in 4 wheel drive in 2nd gear the whole time without a problem, that truck amazes me. not only that i get compliments all the time. Oh ya and the best part is, if you get bigger tires and get a lil lift, no one ever rides your ass : )Dec 11, 2009

1986 F150, inline six, 3 speed, 2WD. Tough as nails truck, flexible, hard working, fun to drive. Body starts to rust in all the typical Ford places, does ride like a grain truck when it gets really cold, but always starts even at -50c. Didn't really expect sports car speed, especially with the inline, but it can move, tons of low-end torque. Mileage is 4.8 km/L (14.6 mpg for the Americans), not bad for 280,372km truck. Durable as hell, been hit six times and its still rolling strait, can't say the same for the cars that hit me. lol Love the look of it, like a Panzer tank on wheels. Recommend it highly.Dec 06, 2009

I love this truck. It has taken a lot of my money to keep it running but it has all round great performance. I would never sell it or get rid of it. It is a country boys truck. I am wishing to fix it up and make it a show truck after college. My dad gave it to me and i thank him greatly for giving it to me. It has gotten me into a lot of trouble and has also gotten me out of a lot.Sep 28, 2009

i love my 85 ford pick up. i am 18 and its my first vehicle and i couldnt have asked for a better one. my dad bought it from his dealership for 800 and put about 3 grand into it. (including magna flow and bigger tires)so the truck runs great and hasnt left me stranded yet. but it is only a 2wd which, where i live isnt very popular. i cant take it wheeling with my buddies but its still a keeper. It's a 1986 ford, with a 5.0 (*302) Engine package. Everything on the vehicle is stock. It's got 125k miles on it and it's got a flawless exterior/interior. Eventually I plan to upgrade the exterior/interior somehow but I have not picked a specific style yet. I have changed the wheels, to a 50's style, baby moon chrome rims with thicker tires in the back and smaller ones in the front, both for 15" rims. I will post pictures later if there seems to be some interest in it.Aug 11, 2008

My dad bought this particular truck new in 1980 for around $12,000. Stayed in the family ever since. It's a lot of fun to drive on and off road, servicing it isn't difficult. The only gripes I have are that the transmission doesn't really seem up to the task, and the fuel mileage was terrible, despite the dual fuel tanks.Jul 03, 2008

She is 21 years old with a new 4.9 liter inline 6, 300 engine. she is a little rough around the edges but soon she will be amazing. i am going to give her a nice ass home Gloss Red paint job, i will chrome her out and she will be the sexiest truck on the block.Jun 19, 2008

long lasting engine (300 k/miles easy ! hear of 400k/miles done by somme !)
easy to fix, low cost parts .. btw ; originals galipers, alternator, p/b, p/s, trany, t-case, drive-shafts !
it's not very fast but have impressive handling even under load !
I bought this truck 15 years ago, I've made 1500miles rides with a caravan every years (that's why I bought this truck, to pull ! and he did it, quite well !)
I'm very satisfied !Jun 04, 2008

i rebuilt my f.i. 302 (vin # N) by boring it .30 over and installing a 260 lift cam to replace the 206 from the factory. with headers, electric fan and few other mods i am pushing 398 hp. AWESOME TRUCK! im getting 19.5 mpg on the hwy. the AOD trans leaves some to b desired since u cant hold it in 2d gear manually. but other than that it is nearly completely rebuilt and i plan to keep it for at least 8 to 10 more years.Nov 30, 2007

Always started when nothing else would. always seemed to surprise folks with her power. Still looks great after all these years, just like the wife! If your considering a real truck, don't be afraid to buy one of these old war horses regardless of the price - bought mine for $500, what a deal!Jan 15, 2007
