Great SUV! Owned mine for 7 years used. I like the size and handling of the 4.0 litre 6 cylinder model. I would like to find and equivalent model before the redesigned Explorer in 2010May 26, 2024

The car is amazing. The only thing missing is the tech but is for the year. Solution install a new radio system with Navigation and Bluetooth. Other than that, its a great vehicle. May 16, 2024

This car is absolutely amazing. It’s extremely reliable. It’s extremely comfortable, plenty of room, smooth to drive. It looks nice overall, it’s only downfall is it’s not good on gas.Sep 07, 2021

Considering the age , model, and mileage my purchase was very acceptable. I researched the 2010 Ford Explorers and debated whether or not to take a chance with the history of issues. That being said , the price I paid was very good.Mar 20, 2021

A really great family car with excellent handling in all weather. Nice heated leather, sunroof, sound system with sync, towing package, and automatic 4 wheel drive. Luxurious interior. I really like the third row seating and luggage rack on top.Aug 27, 2014

I love everything about this vehicle except the gas mileage. It handles great in bad weather, is roomy enough for my family of 5, and I think the mid-size SUV is perfect. Easier to fit into tight places than the Expedition, yet you still sit up high in traffic, and you can haul more than the Escape.Dec 06, 2012

Overall this car is elegant and sporty at the same time. It has a luxurious feel with the leatherette seats, the wood trim, all electric seats, heated seats etc. I will buy one again, just upgrading to a newer model. Oct 16, 2012

Love the fact that ours has the 3rd row for the additional seating. One of the most spacious 3rd rows we sat in. Downside to that is you sacrifice cargo space with the 3rd row up. Smooth ride for road trips yet nimble enough for city traffic. DVD is a must with kids! V8 and 4wd means that I'm driving in almost all conditions. All the necessary safetly features and then some. ABS, airbag (front and side), etc. No overall complaints. Repair costs are speculative at best since we've not needed any service after almost 64000 miles. VERY happy with our SUV.Jun 30, 2012

The overall competence of the Explorer is what we appreciate most about it. Taking grandsons on all day excursions, a day trip to Tahoe or pulling our trailer camping it just gets the job done with little fuss. It is very comfortable. I am over 6'1" and 215 and the seats are comfortable and supportive.
Having the radiator issue was frustrating on a modern vehicle at such low mileage.
I was very surprised at the compact turning radius. It does it give it capabilities on Forest service roads that I like. If it had skid plates it would be perfect. Nov 04, 2011

Overall, a very good SUV. Great power/performance, very good towing capacity/capability, lots of interior room, nice styling. It's great SUV because it has everything I need. The V6 is just enough for me, I mainly do city driving. I like the leather quality on the seats. It is very quiet and I love the comfort on the 2nd row.

This is my 2nt Ford Explorer and definitely not my last! This vehicle is built Ford tough and is fun to drive. Comfortably
seats 7 and the 3rd row seat is very roomy for a mid-sized
SUV. I wish I was able to afford the V8 model but I had to
take MPG in perspective, which this V6 get 20MPG on the
Highway. The AWD system is a large bonus for me due to
my driveway situation and MD snow falls in the winter, also
the handling of this Explorer is the best in any weather condition, when driving in heavy rain this Explorer handles
like its a nice sunny day out! I would highly recommend this Vehicle to anyone looking for a well built mid-size suv for
under $32000 Oct 15, 2009

One of the best cars ever....if it wasn't for the fuel consumption ;)
Couldn't ask for more on an icy slippery road in winter or towing your boat to your cottage in summer.....plenty of interior space and storage area...powerful engine and good finish
BUT.......
The fuel cosumption is ridiculousAug 30, 2008

Great for hauling kids, dogs, bikes, surfboards and general yard stuff. Very utilitarian, a lot better on the gas than you'd think...about 18 in town...and that's stop and go. Great on the highway, around 22-25 mpg. Very stable, handles a lot better than my 1999 Explorer. All in all, a good buy, a good brand, a good truck. Looks sharp, but needs a re-design on the interior functionality. IPOD docks, phones, etc. It's my third Explorer, but, I'm ready for a little hot car next. I'm getting old.Aug 29, 2008

This is by far the best Explorer we have owned. This is the family's 5th Explorer. I love the features. It is packed with electronics such as Navigation, Sirius ,DVD player, ipod jack. On the road the handling is adequate. the short wheelbase makes for a little bit of a bumpy ride. The acceleration is awesome with the big V8. The transmission is not the smoothest. When you come to a light it has a tough time shifting back to first gear. The memory seats also have a tough time holding the setting. Other than those two little issues this is a fantastic, safe vehicle for the family. The third row power fold down seats come in handy when carrying more than 2 kids somewhere. Aug 20, 2008

It is a great car but in Panama you can only choose the V6 version and is never as good as a V8 even in fuel consumption every other thing ism above performance. It is agreat car to drive and very comfortable for an entire family a real american family carAug 12, 2008

This is my 2nd Explorer,I still have the '97 which has 100k miles on it and is running great. I don't like the iac control on the 97 and the rough idle/clicking noise it's had forever.
The new Eddie Bauer v8 is nearly perfect, quiet, smooth, classy interior, good power and stability towing and cornering. The exterior looks great and as a heavy duty towing vehicle should. The leather seats are comfortable and my wife loves the adjustable pedals/seat with memory.
Here it is 2014 and my 08 Explorer is 6 years old this month.Drive it to Florida every winter for 6 months and the rest of the time in Wisconsin.Love the V8 even though it's a gas hog.Great for pulling boats, interstate driving ,carrying up to 7 people.
Had many people offer to buy it since it was the last of the Exp. V8's. Not ready to sell with only 52k miles on it.

My 2008 Explorer is 8 years old this month and has 63000 miles on it. It runs great and gives us peace and comfort traveling back and forth to Florida every winter. Other than brake pads, I had to replace the serpent belt and a couple of pulleys. This vehicle is right up there with the best I have ever owned.Jun 03, 2008

The 2006 year was a milestone for the Ford Motor Company with the redesign of the Ford Explorer line of mid-sized suvs. I had a 1998 V8 Explorer before this car came into my life, and I can not see what I ever saw in the old one. The designing on the interior is awesome (looking much like the F-150's) and the exterior is beautiful. The drive is completely smooth and Ford did an excellent job reducing the noise of the cabin almost to an inaudible amount on the highway. Safety is a must too. The Explorer comes with RSC which basically gives you stability in sudden turn scenarios, and has one of the best airbag systems in the industry. I would recommend this car to anyone who wants to enjoy driving and wants the best suv on the road. If you drive this car, you will never be able to drive another main brand suv again.Feb 06, 2008
