I loved driving this car, now mine was actually a plymouth turissmo 2.2 with the high output engine. I had the 5 speed and my car was light easy to work on. Mine was had a bit of superficial rust on it so it could have looked better, but for a first car it was pretty good. It performed well didn't really cost a whole lot to own and was tons of fun to drive.Feb 10, 2013

(This review is comparing the 1984 dodge charger to other comparable 1980`s vehicles.) For an economy car from 1984 based on the Dodge Omni this car is not all that bad. The 96 hp 2.2l N/A 4 cylinder with a 3 speed auto pulls the 2300ibs car Fine until around 70mph. 0-50 times are around 7 seconds. This car could really use a 5 speed. The car handles and brakes better than any car I have ever driven. The ride is not bad for a car this small. The build quality isn`t the best but their was worse. Their is some squeaks/rattles that you may have to hunt down and fix. This car has a huge trunk even with the back seat up. The exception to this is the rear seat is very cramped. On the outside the charger is very sporty with a rear spoiler and 14 inch alloys. The Cost of ownership is very low. It gets 25-30 mpg and insurance cost is low. Feb 26, 2011

Great car for its time, definitely a classic. I just bought this car and it looks amazing. Experiencing some issues with the vacuum lines, but I'll have that fixed soon. Very fun to drive! Interior looks great and feels very sporty. I paid 1150 and I'm going to do about $500 in work and it should be excellent. Only real problem is that the doors have to swing out really far in order to get out comfortably, I may be installing some vertical doors in the near future...Dec 10, 2009

I bought a white and black charger at Arlington Park Dodge in March 1983. It was a great little car and it could not pick up the chicks like my friends formula so I sold it for a Bricklin. But I now miss the car and found a nice red charger 2.2 for sale and bought it 26 years after selling the original!!! Yea baby not many left out there. I have also had a shelby which is so much cooler and faster but I still had to have this red 2.2. Well I am not 16 anymore and Arlington Park Dodge is gone but I can still drive around in this 2.2 with Quiet Riot Blasting Cum on and Feel the Noize! Jun 02, 2009

It was in all honesty the plymouth version of the same car, the plymouth Turismo it had a 2.2L I4 that put out about 110 hp and with a 5 speed it was a pretty quick little hatchback. I was the third owner my uncle and dad had had the car before I go ahold of it, my uncle had taken the power steering pump out and my dad the ac compressor before I got it and finally fixed the overheating problem it had. Overall it was a fun car would love to get my hands on another!May 11, 2009

This car was my first car, it was either this or a senior class ring. I thought i'd get more mileage from a car then a ring, so.... The Car did what it was supposed to do. It was owned by a fire marshall before me, and the gearing I BELIEVE was futzed with. While it had decent pickup, it didn't have a lot of power for a 2.2 Lt car. It usually had to be downshifted on big hills 1 or 2 gears. Where it made up for that was it's top speed. The gearing allowed for something over 130. Never quite hit the top end - there were no roads long enough for it to get to the top speed. After a accident in a blizzard, i had to have a new hood and front grill put on. The only replacement at the time that could be found was a white Plymouth Duster... so I then had a VERY getto car for the remainder of it's life. It was full of repair needs, but got great gas mileage. I could usually go to Boston (from Burlington Vermont), to and from, on 1 tank of gas. There's NO car out there anymore that can really claim the same. Thank you petroleum industry.Jan 04, 2009

How to review a K-car that I put 12 miles on in my year of ownership? Amazing is the best that comes to mind, my car came to me with a blown headgasket. While replacing that I threw in a huge cam, a 750cfm Holley carb, and, a long tube header with stright pipe. Other wise the car was very stock(shelby suspension and brakes) and very rusty. Once I got it running well eneough and decided to take it for a drive I didnt stop smiling for 3 days. It was by far the slowest and about the worst car I have ever driven and I would give anything for another one.Nov 28, 2008

My very first car. Bought it for 150 bucks. 2.4 litre inline four cylinder FWD. Good lord it need all three motor mounts, upper, lower, ball joints, inner and outer tie rods. A driver side transaxle, and both front srtuts. I should've said "My very first mistake." then i looked under the passenger side floorboard and seen that it was hit right at the door jam. So my dad sold it for 50 bucks.May 25, 2008

Great car. Low cost rocket. Easy to work on, easy to build power. Had two, on blue and one red (as pictured(photo courtesy of Pat Lofink, SDAC)) With very little modification, these 2.2L Turbos were easily capable of beating a stock 5.0 LX 0-60 and 1/4 mile. I speak from experience. Had mine as quick as 13.9 @ 110 mph, stock turbo, stock trans (for those in the know, this is not easy with an A525) Handled great with the stock Goodyear gatorback 50 series tires. Interior was a tad plasticy, but the seats were very good, with nice "CS" stitching.Jan 06, 2008
