Driving this car is an ego-stroking shot of pure adrenalin! I feel like a kid again!Only thing I would possibly want to top it would be a triple BLACK 70 RT/SE, with gator grain top, 440 six pak ,leather seats and a factory electric moonroof. I had the opportunity to buy this exact car back in 79, I couldn't scrape together the "high" price of $1000!, wish I did, today as I understand the production figures, this combination of options made this a 1 of only 7 built!!
I would now be a wealthy man!Feb 23, 2015

it handles great.

Was an origianl 383, but now sits with a 440 out of a 1970 Superbird. Does it rattle? Of course, I rattled at 43 years old! Recently appraised at $60,000. We have $45,000 into her. Very fun to drive and yes, brag about it! She is beautiful!Apr 06, 2011

Like the old Muscle Cars. Big Blocks, 383, auto. Just a plain jane, but I like it. Would like to find the stock wheels, but they are high dollar now a days. Will get it fixed up some day. Love my Charger!Nov 15, 2010

Probably one of the best designs to come out of Detroit! Mine came with the 318, 904 Torqueflight and 2.71 gears in the rear. Engine and driveline is solid! The car was built for the highway! Averaged 20-21 MPG on the highway.Jun 03, 2010

I love this car. Its nice and has a good engine. I like the way it has the look of classic american cars it is a big and heavy it eats a lot gas. But overall it is a nice carApr 21, 2010

Big, heavy, beautiful, powerful. Classic American muscle. Compared to modern cars it gets dreadful mileage and has mediocre brakes.
I don't care.
Mine is a 440 4-speed. It's a blast to drive and turns heads everywhere it goes. I can't imagine ever selling it. Feb 20, 2010

It's a tough choice which car is cooler, the 1968 or '69
Dodge Charger, especially since the 1969 model changed
little. A split front grille and recessed rectangular taillights
were designed to give an even sportier look to the car. An
SE Special Edition package offered with the R/T models
added touches of luxury inside, with leather seats, wood-
grain steering wheel, and optional sunroof. The optional
bumblebee striping was altered slightly. Engine choices
were still the 318, 383, 440 Magnum, and 426 Hemi.
sounds ace and is a lovely car but couldn't afford to use it
much.Dec 19, 2009

amazing performance, has breathtaking acceleration but handles like a battleship. loads of wallowing and cant take corners at more than 30 mph. dont even ask about the brakes, lol.
no need for any repairs but, everything squeaks or rattles. exterior styling is all muscle while the interior is quite basic for equipment but very spacious and comfortable.
cost of ownership - around town is 10 to the gallon but almost double that on a motorway, maintenence can be costly, depending what you need and whether you can do it yourself or not.
the fun factor is unbeatable - the best way to laugh while something empties your bank account for you.Dec 13, 2009

I like the power that it has behind it. Acceleration is powerful and breaking is smooth. Handling is a little on the wild side but is so fun to drive. It doesnt need any repairs but it costs alot to have.Dec 02, 2009

It was a 440 4sp with a 3.55 dana rear end with bucket seats and console which made for interesting shifting as the shifter handle came up through the center and over to the driver.Had a 150 mph speedo and i managed to see 135 mph Nov 17, 2009

It's a car I always wanted, but I doubt I'll ever have one. It's a great car, from it's Hemi engine to it's bad boy looks. If someone ask's me to choose between a Charger and a Mustang, Charger is the only right answer ;)Oct 16, 2009

This was my first car, knuckle-dragging brute horsepower. steered like a boat on jell-o, needed an arrestor hook to stop but boy did it go fast in a straight line a real throttle monster. Mine was a 383CI Magnum with a 4 speed transmission (manual natch'). It went to heaven via a concrete telephone pole. It was a my first love and was a rust bucket as they all were from the factory, but boy was it fast.Aug 19, 2009

Great, can't kill it's massive hemi. Get's up and goes, no quarter miles until enough repairs have been mad. Will post updated picture or mock-up picture when enough progress has been made. No, I'm not making a dime-a-dozen redneck-ass General Lee copy.Aug 12, 2009

Performance - My charger has 763 bhp!
Stock body
pearlescent orange paint with black stock vinyls
Has got 20" Konig Image wheels
Okay gas is expensive but the electronic fuel management does its job.
The car is insane and can destroy anything on or off the track! Fun factor - 10 out of 10Jul 31, 2009

What's not to love, i mean it's a real, high option low production big block Charger RTSE! Plus it's the same car Vin Diesel drives in the fast and the furious. Although, I'm not a big fan of Chevy powered cars with fake superchargers sticking out the hood.Jul 10, 2009

It had a 440 Magnum. Oh! My! God! My mechanic let me take it for a spin once and I still thank him for that. The slightest touch of the gas and the tires would light up. I'm sort of glad I don't have one, I couldn't afford new tires every week, never mind the gas mileage!Jan 03, 2009

I built it, Its fast and fun to drive! I started the project when i was 16, and have been continuing to mod it today. So far it has ran a best of 11.70@113 mph. Next year the car will be a new monster! The only thing i dislike about it, is when it breaks, means more money out of the pocket! Oct 27, 2008

This car is a beast and the fastest car i own at 8mpg. You can hear it a block away and the sound doesn't get any better. This is the true American muscle car. This charger even looks mean and yes it does bite. I named it the Shark and it is mean.Oct 17, 2008

My dad's car. Loved it. Hardcore Mopar hemi style muscle, but was our family car for years. The two doors made it hard to get into the back seat. The interior got really hot in the summer and I don't recall there being air conditioning in this one.Mar 01, 2008

My dads first car. 1969 dodge charger R/T 440 four speed manual transmission. My grandpa bought this car for my dad when he was 15 years old. he sold it for five years and then bought it back in 1990 and put it back to the original factory condition with numbers matching from bumper to bumper. meaning it has the exact motor, transmission rearend and everything that came in that car.Feb 03, 2008

I enjoyed closing the driver's door from the inside because I'd get butterflys in my gut about the ride Im about to go on that night. I really beat the hell out of it. The highs were the 145MPH+ six-pak growl, enternal tire spin and never getting tired of looking at it(every angle). Lows brakes, handled like a old pickup truck & constant repairs(trannys, diffs etc..)I still love the look but not the drive. Dec 08, 2007
