Well. I own a 2003 which I bought in 09 for 6k. When I bought it it had 205k on it. Now its got 340K. It still runs. Its got a small transmission issue, fixable. But yeah, theyre tanks. Im a contractor and beat the hell outta my trucks, run them long highway miles as well as short city miles in Ithaca which is very very hilly. I burn up lots of rear brakes on these big heavy trucks but they do not dissapoint, and theyll tow a house.Jan 08, 2023

This truck is an excellent choice for hauling out trailering. The Allison Duramax 6.6 transmission assures that the load wont be a problem. The 8 cylinder diesel engine makes up the heart of the beast providing 445 hp to make the haul effortless. As an LTZ trim it is loaded with bells and whistles to make the journey comfortable. As a dually it can handle large loads with more stability. The 2WD/4WD switch allows high or low options. Bose sound system with Sirius XM/AM/FM CD player, auxiliary connection and accepts MP3 allows an enjoyable environment. Nov 05, 2022

I would much rather have the Chevrolet Silverado 3500 than any newer Ford F-350 due to their continued Diesel engine problems. Feb 08, 2022

The Cadillac of the dually, trucks a true commercial grade truck with all the engine noise of a regular non-diesel half-ton truck. Incredibly quite, so non traditional of diesel engines. Nov 12, 2020

rides good and tall, great overall truck, tows great, fuel economy great towing and unoaded, smooth and quiet ride, cant hear the motor at all. no maintenance, only 10 quart oil exchange instead of 15 quarts like ford and dodge. fuel purge pump saves tow trip to dealer. cant say enough about it.Jun 17, 2014

The most car-like of the heavy-duty pickups, DURAMAX 6.6L TURBO DIESEL V8. Comfortable for driver and ride for for everyone. No complaints, truck has made some long trips, I appreciated the ride and comfort features. Hats off to a dependable hard working truck.May 18, 2014

Great truck, power when you need it, comfortable all the time. I wish the dash didn't look like such cheap plastic imitation wood but that is what it is. I really wish that GM had continued with the sun visors that extend out so you can block the sun when it is past the visor. The window auto up feature would be a nice upgrade, as well as being to auto up/down the back windows on the crew cab. The back seat floor board rises up a solid inch or more not allowing you to put a standard tool box under the seat. No rear air vents for back passengers except for that under the driver/passenger seat.Apr 21, 2014

Easy to drive, tows very well, accelerates very well, exhaust brake saves brakes, very safe and in control driving, repair, maintenance & fuel costs reasonable, quiet with no blind spots, is a good looking truck and is comfortable to drive, the six speed Allison Transmission provides easy towing.Apr 23, 2013

comfortable truck that will gain your trust... with some annoying issues that can be over come, after all when reliability, durability and low operating costs are what your looking for this truck is sure to please. please note throughout my economy tests i was within 10% of the speed limit and would pass slower vehicles, driving much like anyone on the road. most driving was in mountain roads.Dec 12, 2012

overall performance of this truck was awesome, its nearly im possible to destroy, it handles well. the truck looks great and is well pretty efficient for the size of the truck, i mean its no Honda civic but I do not know any Honda that can pull a 22 foot long logging trailer full of trees.Oct 26, 2011

interior noise is nothing, i barely heard anything, also we had an xm radio that came out crystal clear, onto the motor, we pulled everything with this truck, from boats and horse trailers, to a logging trailer, and the truck did not even seem like it was pulling hard, the truck did well on fuel economy i mean it was a 3500 HD, of course its going to drink, but for what we needed it for it was consistent whether driving regular trips or when pulling trailers.Oct 18, 2011

This is the WORST truck I've ever owned. GM totally made a complete failure. The Duramax will have issues within 40,000 miles. But hey at least it's not one of those fall-apart-immediately GM-built 6.2l's. Isuzu engineered this engine. Do not buy this truck.Jan 25, 2011

Alright, time to be honest here... they suck. Hear me out before leaving my review..
Power isn't a issue since a small majority of them have DuraMax engines with a pretty nice payload / haul capacity. Looks on the other hand, I have to admit it looks way to much like the GMC trucks out there.. same body, same engine, same frame.. you can't really say they are different other then the logo. Maintenance on these things can become expensive fast, but then again I'm sure you didn't buy it for looks or driving did you? Towing.... not to bad, but for a 3500 HD, I think it could be a lot better due to the fact that the F250, F350 have a little more advantage over it. Handling is actually really good for such a big truck, and seating is great as well. Price is the biggest issue with these things, I've driven a few of them that run over 40 grand.. mainly due to dealer options added.. but even without it they still run over 25 grand.Jul 08, 2008

We called this 'The BEAST'. It has a 6.7 litre V8, a separate full sized domestic shower cubicle, and separate bathroom with electric flushing toilet, a king sized bed over the cab, and more cupboard space than your average kitchen. You can use the engine bay as an additional sleeping area... These are said to be the toughest vehicle ever built. They are used underground in the mines in the USA.
