The impala is comfortable and has a roomy layout. It is well suited for business trips and family vacations alike. Excellent in all weather conditions. Economic to maintain. Reliable Chevrolet technology. Separate zone heating, even in the base model.. Remarkably well soundproofed. Spacious trunk capacity.Mar 15, 2015

If you can find a model with the 3800 engine and lower mileage, you're sure to have a vehicle that the engine will outlast all the other parts on it. They ride extremely comfortable and feel very solid. There is an average amount of road noise. Minor hiccups and repairs along the way, this vehicle is still an excellent choice.Jan 12, 2015

My wife and I purchased this car from our uncle. He purchased the car from his fire chief where he is a volunteer firefighter, for his son's first car; fire chief's mother purchased car brand new and put 58,000 miles on it it 11 years. We purchased vehicle upon returning from work overseas in November 2012 and were amazed at the condition of the car for being a 2001. It literally ran like new. We have had to replace the original battery and replaced brake system in late 2013. My wife likes it because it's reliable and safe to ride around with our 14 month old son. She also likes it because when we had snow and ice in February 2013 in Nashville she started sliding on road which initiated traction control and she stopped sliding immediately.Mar 13, 2014

I've had an excellent experience with my Impala and would recommend it to any one looking for a 4 door American made sedan. The interior is nice, Chevy did very well with the dash design and the over all flow of the interior. Additionally its roomy I'm 6'2 275 lbs and I fit in the driver seat comfortably. Lastly it handles exceptionally and does pretty good on gas.Feb 14, 2014

Bought it used with 50,000 odd miles on it in 2012, and never had a major problem with it. Even after my wife got into a fairly serious accident with it that probably would have totaled most other cars, the availability and popularity of the car meant that parts were cheaper and it was a fairly easy fix, even through insurance. My only issue is that the headlights are very dim, even with the high-beams on, and there are no trunk lights, making night a bit tough when loading/unloading. Fits plenty of people and stuff though, so it's great for family trips or the grocery store - highly recommended if price is a concern.Dec 28, 2013

This is a well build, solid car. This car has delivered time after time. Great mileage, smooth ride, plenty of room. One of the best cars I have ever owned. I would recommend this car with a 3800 engine to anyone looking for dependability.Jun 21, 2013

This is a very spacious car that is great for families or anyone who needs extra space. Has excellent stereo sound and quality speakers. It is easy to maintain so I have had no complaints on this one at all.Nov 26, 2012

It's reliable and gets fairly good gas mileage. It also has a lot of leg room on the inside in both the front and back seats. It's just your basic sedan but it will get you where you need to go.Apr 20, 2012

Good daily driver, handles well and has a lot of power. It is reliable and
inexpensive to maintain. Good for interstate and back road driving, as well
as driving in inclement wether. I would recommend this car to any one
that needs a practical reliable vehicle. The low coast of maintenance
makes up for the bad fuel economy Apr 11, 2012

A middle of the road car in about everything. Very comfortable, but very poor handling. It is just a mediocre Chevy sedan. Looks better with the larger sportier wheels, spoiler, and tinted windows. Being the base model, it just has an average V6.Mar 21, 2012

There is nothing that I do not like about this car. I would definitely recommend this car to others. It looks very sleek, extremely smooth ride. For a car this size and weigh, it is very easy on the gas mileage.Feb 17, 2012

On of the best cars I have ever owned. It is
quick. This is an extremely dependable car.
Great gas mileage and comfort on long trips.
The
value cannot be beat. I have over 100,000
miles and about the only thing I have done to
thie car is maintenance, except I needed to
replace the air conditioner pump this past
summer.Nov 23, 2010

Not a bad car. The 3.8 L 3800 series V-6 has plenty of pick up and go. I like the
floor mounted shift lever. Has kind of a sporty feel and look to it. Drives nice.
Gets great fuel mileage. The best we've gotten with it was about 29 Mpg on a
road trip we went on. It has plenty of room in the trunk and passenger
compartment, easily carry 4 adults comfortably, plenty of storage space. Sep 21, 2010

This was our newest car for a LONG time. We bought it new in 2002 I believe. Was a reat car for family use. We did not have use of it for long as our daughter aquired it and drove it back and forth to college in Wilmington, North Caorlina. She named it, "Betty". Maybe because it was dark bkue, blue Betty. This was a great car for the money and it served us well. Acceleratoin was great as was the braking and handling. It was built well and we had little issues with it. Appearance was great, both inside and out. The cost of ownership was very good and the car delivered very respectable mialage. Fun to drive, indeed!Aug 27, 2010

I love my Impala because of the good gas milage, very good handling around corners. I love the cars engine: GM's 3800 Series II. I would say Impalas are very fun to drive if you like full size cars. I will keep my Impala for a very long time!Mar 05, 2010

Performance is good. Feels like a sturdy build. Looks great with tinted windows. Good factory speakers. I love the heated leather seats. Great acceleration, and takes turns nicely. Even though its suppose to be a sportier car, its still a four door sedan with front wheel drive, but still lots of fun to drive!!Oct 12, 2009

Performance: 9C1 spec Impala's are, in comparison with the LS and base model, a world of a different car, Significantly stiffer suspension, they come standard with stabalizer bars and HD components to go alone with them. Even at 200k, the springs on my 1st 9C1 were stiff as a rock. Engine wise, they come with the same N/A 3800 Series 2 Motor that the LS's get, however the 9C1 has it mated to all HD gear and a higher ratio transmission, that really wakes up the 3800 and you'll notice it on takeoffs.
Build Quality, Aside from general known issues with the 3800 powered cars (not so great trannys after 100k and lower intake gaskets.) Was very solid.
Appearance was average, unique and IMO better than the current 06+ generation in looks.
If you get an Impala with a solid tranny and that has already had the lower intake manifold fixed, these cars will last someone a VERY long time. 200k is easily hit on these cars.
Fun Factor: A police car has fun written all over it.Feb 01, 2009

The car is amazing, it has great acceleration and great gas mileage. The handling is the best out of any other vehicle i have driven. Aside from minor electrical problems when i got it, its a great car. The price was right to costing just a little over 6000 dollars. I love this car.Oct 06, 2008

Although I've had to replace a couple of different
parts it is fairly reliable. I've driven it to OK and
Ames with no problems. Never broke down for me.
Large and comfortable. Not a granny car like most
ppl say. Although I'd get one for my grandma if
she wanted one. Good gas mileage. It's my baby. Aug 27, 2008

I have owned this car for a year now, and the only problem we've had with it was the catalytic converter went out a few months ago. However, the engine has 133k miles on it and it still roars when i want it to. I love the leather interior and heated seats. Mar 22, 2008
