After searching for ages to find a 100, I was elated to come across this vehicle - basically a 100 with more power. I was lucky enough to get this one with a mere 171,000 miles at 22 years old, so it looks like it'll be running for years to come. The interior is elegant, "Classic Audi," and very comfortable, and it's a blast to drive. Mine has a stage 3 clutch, which makes it a little bit of work and stop-and-go traffic, but on an open onramp when I get to put the pedal to the metal and feel the turbo kick in...sure wakes me up faster than the cup of coffee.
The down side of that is that the gas mileage is downright Jurassic compared to today's standards - I average about 19mpg combined. (To be fair, I drag it through Seattle's horrific rush hour twice a day - it would be much better if I had more actual highway driving.)
My only other complaint is that is was clearly designed for much taller people. I'm 5'7" and I sit with the seat ALL THE WAY forward, and I still have to stretch my leg to get the clutch all the way to the floor. Since the center armrest is attached to the seat, that also puts it much farther forward, which means I end up bumping my elbow on it whenever I shift into 2nd or 4th. Not a big deal - I've adapted to it pretty comfortably now - but if you're any shorter than me, you're going to have a real hard time driving this car.
Bottom line, though, I love it dearly. It feels incredibly solid, it handles the inclement weather without hesitation, and above all, it's a sportier version of my dream car, so I'm a very happy woman.Jan 25, 2015

Good performance engine, but it uses much oil. Maybe fixable by changing some gaskets. High cost car both in gas mileage and maintenance, but it rewards you everytime the foot hits the pedal. Nice discrete looks, and good build quality!Mar 21, 2010

It is the best performance sedan of it's time. The
sound of the Inline 5 20-valve DOHC motor is sweet.
There is nothing else like it. With minimal
modifications, it can out perform most of todays mid
size performance sedans.Jan 22, 2010

This is the car that solidified by passion for Audi. The performance was great, the AWD awesome, and the comfort/options for a '92 car is outstanding. I did have some issues with the car but all were related to the PO's lack of care and someone that treated it very poorly while borrowed. With that in mind, it held its own very well and was wonderful to own. This by far the most fun car I have owned - I truly miss it.Mar 29, 2009

Best handling car I've ever owned, and what a power house. And the upgraded brakes rock. The car cost me only $3500 from another Audi Club member, it was well looked after. Other upgrades in the future include bigger turbo, injectors and a Front mounted inter cooler, and some new coil packs. Some new suspension would really set this car up as well, it's only money :).Mar 07, 2009

1993 Audi S4 quattro, 130,000 miles.
One of approx. 600 imported during 1993. Tornado Red with black leather. The car has been modified with all of the Porsche/Audi developed RS2 components. If you don't know what an RS2 is, it was a hot rod station wagon (Avant) that was performance engineered by Porsche for Audi. Horsepower should be around 380+ at the crank but without a four wheel dyno at my disposal I'm not about to make any concrete claims. As Rolls Royce used to say, performance is sufficient. ;-)
With 28 psi of boost the performance is quite nice. 0-60 mph in about 5 seconds flat if I launch like there is no tomorrow. ;-)Oct 23, 2008
