Surprisingly reliable as a Toyota car or VW car. It is also more reliable than any BMW vehicle my friends own. Most expensive bit I had to repair is the HVAC fan unit, and replacement tyres (235/55R19) both at around $900.00 for replacement, including labour. Lasted for 150,000mi with me until I traded it in for a more modern car. I had no transmission issues, no operation issues under severe weather conditions, no engine failures. I have averaged 33.5mpg everyday in both city and highway driving.
I probably take care of my vehicles better than most people, and I am usually pro-active in maintenance or prompt to address any issues that arises.
I would recommend the Audi Q5 as a good commuter/everyday car. May 03, 2025

Great value and fun to drive. This car is very fun to drive it handles well in town and on the highway. It gets great gas mileage being a 4cyl. But the turbo charged 2.0 provides plenty of torque and power to get up and go when needed. Nov 13, 2024

Avoid like the plague. Huge issue with excessive oil consumption. Known defect by Audi. Repairs are being pursued via class action lawsuits because it was proven Audi was at fault. 2.0T engines prior to 2013 are disasters waiting to empty your wallet. Jul 24, 2023

Love love love this car. Was shopping for this and Mazda Cx-5 Grand Touring. The Audi Q5 was so much more solid in both town and freeway test drive. Dec 22, 2022

Car drives fantastic. Handles well and looks good. Just be prepared with a high mileage Audi 2.0T, there is the risk of a bad timing chain, or fuel injector. Not to mention oil consumption on 2014 or older due to a piston defect. As for the 3.0T, just the bad gasket seals causing oil leaks when over 85k miles. Jun 15, 2022

Amazing SUV to drive. It handles well, and has amazing acceleration. There is a slight rattle of the sunroof at a high speed on the freeway, but this vehicle is classy and extremely comfortable. I think its a great investment!Jun 06, 2021

I really like my Audi Q5. I have had it for five years and still receive compliments on it. The Quattro all wheel drive has served me well for skiing and getting over mountain passes. I installed a hitch rack to haul my bikes. We take frequent long trips and the car cruises well. It has plenty of power to move quickly and is one of the best handling SUVs out there. The build quality is great as most Audi vehicles are. I really enjoy driving this SUV.Feb 11, 2015

I love the Q5. I'm always getting complements on how good it looks, especially the panorama sunroof. And since its the Prestige model, it has all the options. A smooth ride and plenty of horse power to quickly get where ever it is you're going.Dec 24, 2014

Performance - great acceleration, braking, handling
Build Quality - no repairs, squeaks/rattles
Appearance - great interior and exterior styling, turns heads
Cost of Ownership - good gas mileage, low maintenance
Fun Factor - this car is fun to drive
Navigation - maps are clear, directions are accurate

Amazing little SUV. Was a little skeptical due to the size, we
really wanted the Q7 but the price and gas mileage were
definitely factors. This car is fun to drive. Quick out of the gate!
The Premium package is loaded. Rear Camera assist is amazing,
3D color navigation is the best I've seen yet, DVD player for the
front screen,et... The car looks great, I wish the cargo area was a

Paint- Alot of "orange-peel" effect on various areas of the car. Excellent power performance on the open road. I used to have a '66 Vette 427/390 HP (years ago). This car has easily got it matched with power. Wish the rear hatch would close with the remote. The Nav package seems to be needing some updates to allow it to function at 100% efficiency. We LOVE this vehicle. It is so solid. What a
great engine and suspension. The car feels tight
and responsive. I have so many great things I
could say about this vehicle. It's a perfect size
which is important with a young child.
The negatives are the voice recognition on the
MMI and the fact that the electric tailgate cannot
be closed from the remote. May 14, 2009
