What’s New for the 2024 Honda HR-V
The Honda HR-V was completely redesigned for the 2023 model year. It carries over into 2024 without any changes to speak of.
Design
The HR-V’s overall design is one of clean lines and simple shapes, which is a welcomed departure from the comparatively busy styling of the previous generation. Trims for the HR-V are LX, Sport, and EX-L. The LX comes equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, LED brake lights, and heated side mirrors. The Sport trim adds 18-inch alloy wheels and chrome exhaust tips. The EX-L goes back down to 17-inch alloy wheels.
Powertrain
The 2024 Honda HR-V comes equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. It produces 158 horsepower and 138 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed to the front wheels or available all-wheel drive (FWD or AWD) via a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
The FWD HR-V returns EPA fuel economy estimates of 26 mpg city, 32 highway, and 28 combined. The AWD version returns 25 mpg city, 30 highway, and 27 combined.
Interior
Standard features on the LX trim include automatic climate control, push-button start, manually adjustable front seats, and cloth upholstery. The Sport trim adds remote keyless entry, remote start, heated front seats, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob.
Moving up to the EX-L adds leather upholstery, a power moonroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and ambient cabin lighting.
The HR-V provides 24.4 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats. With the rear seats folded, the HR-V provides up to 55.1 cubic feet of cargo space.
Technology
The 2024 HR-V comes equipped with an intuitive touchscreen infotainment system. The base LX and Sport trims come with a 7-inch digital instrument panel and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. These trims also include two front USB ports and Bluetooth connectivity. The EX-L trim upgrades to a 9-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. This range-topping trim also includes wireless device charging, HD radio, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and an upgraded eight-speaker stereo system.
Safety
Standard driver-assistance technology on the 2024 Honda HR-V includes automatic emergency braking, forward-collision avoidance, automatic high beams, lane-departure warning, traffic-sign recognition, driver-attention monitoring, and adaptive cruise control. It also comes with traffic-jam assist, which can stay within a traffic lane and stop and go with the flow of traffic. Stepping up to the EX-L trim adds front and rear parking sensors. The Sport and EX-L trims are available with blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
Pricing
At the time of this writing, the 2024 Honda HR-V has a base MSRP of $24,100 for the LX trim. The HR-V Sport starts at $25,650, and the range-topping EX-L starts at $27,650. The only option available is the blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert on the Sport and EX-L trims, which is a $550 option. The Honda HR-V is backed by a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty.
