Few vehicles blend performance and functionality like the Audi RS 6 Avant. The high-powered wagon variant of the RS 6 has an aggressive front-end design, hinting at the performance within. Out back, 30 cubic feet of cargo space make it one fast family hauler.
Behind that menacing maw, the RS 6 Avant features a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine. It makes 591 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque, sent through an eight-speed automatic transmission to Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive (AWD).
This combination allows the RS 6 Avant to sprint from zero to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds on the way to a top speed that’s electronically limited to 155 mph. The top speed can optionally be raised to 190 mph for track use.
But the RS 6 Avant is about more than just straight-line power. In addition to a performance-tuned adaptive air suspension, this fast wagon includes four-wheel steering, a rear sport differential, and sport brakes.
Inside, the RS6 Avant features leather-and-Alcantara upholstery, a fully digital instrument panel, wireless device charging, a 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen premium stereo, and a dual-screen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also features a large panoramic sunroof and three-zone automatic climate control.
Standard safety features include forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, and front-and-rear parking sensors.
Base MSRP for the 2022 Audi RS 6 Avant is $116,500, and the car is only available in a single trim. An optional Carbon Optic package costs $6,360, and there are a number of additional options packages to customize the look of your RS 6 Avant.
Fuel economy estimates for the RS 6 Avant are 15 mpg city, 22 highway, 17 combined. It requires premium fuel. The RS 6 Avant is backed by a four-year/50,000-mile basic warranty.
