The Subaru Tribeca is a minivan on steroids. It combines the fun and versatility of an SUV with the family and cargo-moving capacity of a minivan. It is sleek and upscale, enough to stand out but not too much to get overbearing. It is perfect for the family that’s just not ready to let go of SUV fun, but needs the space for family and cargo that a minivan offers. The Tribeca has been pleasing the “in-between crowd” since 2005, with its last major update in 2008. Its redesign added more space for cargo and an additional third row of seating that now allows it to seat up to 7 people.
The Tribeca comes in 3 trims: Premium, Limited and Touring. The Premium features 3-stage heated front seats as well as dual-zone automatic climate control. The Limited features leather-trimmed upholstery and 2-position driver’s seat memory, and it also offers optional moonroof, navigation and DVD packages. The Touring features a power tilt/sliding moonroof, silver-finish raised roof rails and an integrated rear-view camera. Based on your needs and budget, you can pick the Tribeca that fits your needs and family size.
Every Tribeca comes to life with an ample 3.6-liter, 6-cylinder, 256-hp engine with 247 lb-ft of torque. The Tribeca will take you from 0-60 in an impressive 8.3 seconds. All trims also feature a 5-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode, for those times you want to bring out the SUV side of you and your Tribeca. If you indulge in fun family camping trips or a day at the lake, the Tribeca has the option of a 2,700-pound-capacity towing package. Fuel economy is not one of Tribeca’s highlights at an EPA-estimated 16 mpg city/21 highway.
Its all-wheel-drive system makes the Tribeca perfect for any road conditions you may encounter. The transmission has an optional sport mode that makes it respond better to your driving style during quick trips to the store or long road trips with the family. The Tribeca has extremely responsive steering, making it easy to maneuver even in tight spots.
The interior of the Tribeca features a futuristic-looking wraparound dash with all controls easy to reach. Featuring interior panels with either soft covers or heavy texture, they fit well and add to the wraparound feel of the interior. There is room for 7 people to enjoy the ride, as well as almost 74 cubic feet of cargo space to hold anything that comes with them.

Most owners of the 2012 Subaru Tribeca would recommend the vehicle to a friend based on passenger capacity, cargo capacity and general driving feel. Owners value the people and cargo capacity of the Tribeca, even though mileage is not one of its top features. All owners of the 2012 Tribeca find it an improvement over even the 2011 version and are happy to own one.
i have a 2012 subaru tribeca that continues to overheat after i have changed the thermostat, radiator and coolant reservoir. i am running out of ideas on what is possibly wrong with it. i took it to a shop but they couldnt point to one specific problem they told me it could be a couple different things like the water pump or heater core so they suggested a new engine but before i spent that money will like to hear any suggestions
I have a 2012 Tribeca bought used. It has a black plastic case attached to front window inside. Is this Sirius or some type of Bluetooth device. My dealer for the car at auction, it was part of a company fleet.
