It seems Nissan can do no wrong with its Z series of late. With the 370Z replacing the widely successful 350Z last year, the vehicle gained power, lost weight, and even seemed to gain some room inside. This year, a Roadster version joins the team, offering open-air fun for the Z in the form of a power soft-top with heated rear glass.
The 2010 Nissan 370Z is a rear-wheel-drive two-seater, with what Nissan calls a front mid-engine layout. This configuration places the engine behind the front axle and as close to the firewall as possible, allowing the front wheels to be moved to the extreme corners, relieving stress on the front suspension, as well as bringing front-to-back weight distribution close to a 50:50 ratio.
Available in Base and Touring trims for Coupe and Roadster alike, the 370Z comes with a 3.7-liter V6 - the same found in the Infiniti G37 - good for 332 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque, with your choice of a seven-speed automatic or a six-speed manual with a synchronized downshift rev-matching system, a first. While the clutch has been praised for its smoothness in the six-speed, the shifter has been described as “notchy.” The seven-speed automatic has received similar praise for its smooth operation, but its reluctance to downshift has led many to thank Nissan for its inclusion of paddle shifters, a welcome addition that helps combat the issue nicely.
With its double-wishbone front and multi-link rear suspension, the 370Z has handling that's been described as “class leading,” rivaling that of vehicles well out of the Nissan’s price range. With standard 18-inch wheels and Brembo brakes, the ride and stopping power of the 370Z are quite impressive, although owners and testers have commented on excessive noise from the tires, magnified with the 19-inch wheels that come with the optional Sport Package. That option also adds a limited-slip differential, front and rear spoilers, and even larger Brembo brakes with even better pedal feel.
Nissan made a special effort with the 370Z to improve the interior of the vehicle over that of its predecessor, with special regard to both dimensions and overall quality. The interior materials were a significant improvement according to owners and testers, with many padded surfaces, including knee rests for both driver and passenger - a necessary addition thanks to a relatively low seating position that can leave some feeling claustrophobic. Otherwise, drivers should be impressed with a relatively spacious interior, especially for a vehicle whose wheelbase actually shortened in comparison to the 350Z's, with only taller drivers feeling any want. The 370Z boasts 6.9 cubic feet of space in the trunk, but this seems unlikely, or at least unusable, with obtrusive wheel wells and a high liftover that make whatever space is available inconvenient at best. That said, it’s still an improvement over the 350Z, whose trunk-mounted support member intruded on rear cargo space even more.
Although not often considered as such, the 370Z is a strong contender to rival such American icons as the Mustang and Camaro, with performance that supersedes both at a price that should be much higher. Too much attention goes to front- and all-wheel-drive vehicles these days, when the tried-and-true formula of allowing the front wheels to do the steering and the rear wheels to do the motivating still has nothing wrong with it. The 2010 Nissan 370Z is the latest, and perhaps most stunning, example of just that.

We Ended up buying a different Nissan 370 Z from another dealership and love the car but , The black one in question-was possibly the worst car I’ve ever seen for $10,000. Its paint was as if somebody sprayed it out of rattle can and none of the panels had the proper gap. The rear bumper had a fresh scuff from somebody hitting it in their parking lot. The dash was completely cracked up. It looked like somebody shattered with it a hammer a dozen times over from the heat of the sun, and they didn’t bother fixing it. pretty much every light on the dash was on and the tires were totally bald. I see why after thoroughly reviewing the stats on this car it has sat in their car lot for three years. It shouldn’t be in the car lot. It should be in the junkyard because the only redeeming quality it had was a decent running engine and it had a manual gearbox . I know theses cars hold their value, but damn this one was clapped out and had about another week of life left in the way the salesman drove it, as if he had stolen it. God help whoever buys that car because you better have deep pockets to fix all the flaws of it.Dec 17, 2024

I bought this black 2010 370z with Sport Package when it only had 500 miles on it. It was the best little sports car due to its reliability, sporty and zippy ride, excellent fuel economy, and overall appeal. This car was great on dry pavement but horrible in the ice/snow. This is my third Z car; also owned a 1984 turbo and 1991 twin turbo. They just keep getting better. This was actually the 40th anni which was only 500 in the States. I was a proud owner of this 370Z until it was recently sold. All modification was done at Jtran motorsports in Houston Texas. I still consider this one of the cleanest 370z's in the local area. I would recommend this car if your looking for a affordable sports car. I had none to zero issue's with the car.Feb 01, 2014

For my taste, this is one of the best cars I've ever driven, and I've driven quite a few let me tell you. It's very comfortable sports car surprisingly, its very fast and at the same time, safe. I Drove it with the 7 seed automatic with the pedal shifters, it was amazing. Shifts where fast and smooth, the engine sounded like a race car and the acceleration was unbelievable. The car had a very nice interior as well, I had the cinnamon-ish/orange interior, and the quality was a huge improvement from the 350z. I had so much fun driving the car. Sep 18, 2009

Why is there random loss of power with my 2010 Nissan 370z?
I bought the car a couple months ago. Loved it. Last couple weeks I've noticed there is a hesitation when accelerating/loss of power. I've noticed this by listening to the "Noise" of the car. Each gear I would shift I would hear my car at 3,000 RPM to shift gears. Now I'm noticing to drive to around 3,500- 4,000 RPM's to get the same sound/shift with not as much power. Before the problem- 1st to 2nd at 20 MPH 3,000 RPM 2nd to 3rd at 30 MPH 3,000 RPM 3rd to 4th at 40 MPH 3,000 RPM 4th to 5th at 50 MPH 3,000 RPM 5th to 6th at 60 MPH 3,000 RPM After problem- 1st to 2nd at 15 MPH 3,000 RPM 2nd to 3rd at 25 MPH 3,000 RPM 3rd to 4th at 35 MPH 3.000 RPM 4th to 5th at 45 MPH 3,000 RPM 5th to 6th at 60 MPH 3,000 RPM Basically I need to raise my RPM's another 500-1,000 in order to hear the noise get enough power and reach the MPH to shift to the next gear. Before the problem all I did was add spacers to the tires and get an oil change. Experiencing this problem I did the following to help: -Change the Air filters - Cleaned fuel injectors - Added an exhaust - Changed out all 6 spark plugs (helped with hesitation but not power) - Checked any vacuum leaks No one seems to know what problem this can be but knowing my car I know there definitely is a problem. There was a mis-fire P0300 *Pending* code but after I erased it last week it never came back. Any idea what it could be? 62k miles

Did I just ruin my car (failed oil change)?
So I have a 2010 Nissan 370z. Synthetic oil changes are quite expensive so I thought i'd tackle it on my own this time. Turns out I had a faulty oil filter (double checked with the guy at the store and it was the correct one for my model) and after completing my oil change I went to start my car and oil came spilling out from the oil filter which wasn't correctly screwed on. It was probably on for 8-10 seconds (it didn't move) before I realized the oil was pouring out and turned it off. I ended up getting another filter from another manufacturer, this one installed correctly and there was no leaks/lights. What I'm afraid of is the fact that for 8-10 seconds the car was idling with no oil in the car (or very little since it all poured out through the gap between the loose oil filter). Could this have damaged my car? It's running fine now but I'm just not sure of long term effects.
