Write a reviewThe Volkswagen Touareg received a thorough restyling for this model year, signifying the most substantial changes since the SUV's 2003 introduction. The new Touareg 2 builds on the highly acclaimed first-generation model, but Volkswagen claims significant improvements in power, safety, comfort, and off-road abilities.
Design highlights include a new front fascia, a new grille, additional chrome trim, polycarbonate lens covers, and new aerodynamically enhanced side-view mirrors. In the rear, the Touareg 2 has a roof-edge spoiler, a new exhaust system, and a redesigned bumper.
The Touareg 2 will also receive a series of interior design enhancements. The luxurious and functional interior is filled with high-quality materials and striking new color schemes. A new instrument cluster includes a larger color-enhanced display screen, providing the driver with a variety of information and personalization opportunities. Other interior highlights include redesigned seating with a 12-way power driver's seat, a standard dual-zone or optional four-zone climate control system, an optional keyless access system, a power liftgate, Sirius satellite radio (with three months of free service), and a 10-speaker Dynaudio sound system. This custom-designed system is backed by 620 watts.
There are three variations of the 2008 Touareg: the base VR6, midlevel V8, and powerful V10 TDI Twin Turbo. All three engines benefit from VW's new FSI fuel management system, which boosts both fuel efficiency and horsepower. The VR6's 3.6-liter V6 produces 280 horsepower, while the 4.2-liter V8 delivers 350. Volkswagen's 5.0-liter V10 TDI twin turbo generates 310 horses and 553 pound-feet of torque. All three engines are paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, and four-wheel drive is standard on all models.
The VR6 is available with options like Cricket Leather, walnut trim, an upgraded center console, a 12-way power passenger seat, and bi-xenon headlights with AFS. These items are all standard on the two upper trim levels. Options across the lineup include a DVD navigation system, a rear backup camera, and a four-corner air suspension.

..Hello. I think the VW Tiguan is a good value . No 1 .You actually own a piece of German excellence from the original first design beeing the small VW bettle . No 2 . Beautiful looking vehicle and is very comfortable. Its German built ,and built to last .Feel really safe in this vehicle when driving down the road. Snow Ha! no problem have driven through three and four feet with no problem.Repairs are done by Cutrubus and worth every cent for the once a year PM service, etc. All around ,a GREAT vehicle !! This is a great vehicle so far and it holds the road like it owns it. VW has put a lot in this vehicle to get loyal and reliable satisfaction out of it. What a amazing ride. DAS AUTO! I hope everyone has a chance to at least look at Volkswagens. These are very reliable cars and have been since they came out long ago. I love my Touareg! it is a perfect car. it will go off road and run with the best and it will go on the track and tear it up! off road it is amazing at speed on gravel the back comes out and u can hold a slide with one finger! on the road there is some understear but hey! its a big heavy off roader what do u expect!it is truly a car with no comprimises it will go any where in any condition! the VR6 that i own is not very fast but it gets around qute nice. the transsmision when in D is not very fast on the down changes but when in S it is perfect. the brakes are very good.the interior is nice , the plastics have a quality look and feel to them. the only grudge i hold is with the center console/armrest it has a cheep and flimsy feel. the tires do where aou quite quick being that it has all time 4wheel drive. they last about 20,000 milesJul 04, 2009

Perfect car! with an excellent handling, good acceletation in titronic, but it needs more optionals.
Is very comfortable, but is not a fun car to drive for a boy with 18 years old like me. I prefer a spor car ;) But i like it, and im going to keep it for one or 2 more years.May 21, 2009

Solid build like all German Cars
Very smooth and great handling despite its bulk.
Drives more like a car then an SUV.
Cool top quality interior.

Over-engineered. VW tried to do to much. I"ve had any number of issued (harmonic resonation of air conditioning vents through vehicle firewall to windshield break to windshield wiper timer malfunction and park distance sensor malfunction. VW fixed all issues, but really the time in the shop is too much to be easily done unless you don't have to work.Apr 18, 2009

Porsche Cayenne for a fraction of the price, better looking too.
A real 4X4 car, you can take on or off the road with no complains.
The V6 engine gives reasonable performance with reasonable fuel consumption.

Great car to drive in the city....just too bad other cars allways are in the way...
Its very difficult to drive slow.., the best speed is around 180 km/t..

This car is a typical "SUV" that rarely or never ever sees the mud. As such, it's been optimized for good road perfomance and is very comfy, yet the suspensions are quite firm for an SUV and will let you drive "agressively". This car really stick to the road much better than many other sedans.
Build quality is very solid, and this is my second Touareg in a row. If I had to change again, I'll take another one.
