For 2008, the Nissan Pathfinder midsize SUV adds the first V8 engine in its history with an available 5.6 L, 300 hp model in SE and LE trims. In addition, the Pathfinder gets some new exterior accents along with some high-tech features that include Bluetooth and a 9.3 gig Music Box hard drive in the LE. This SUV comes in 7 trims.
All trims feature a standard 4.0 L, 266 hp V6 engine with 5 speed automatic transmission. Gas mileage comes out to around 13 mpg in the city and 20 on the highway. This model has 4 doors, seats 7, and tows up to either 6000 or 7000 lbs. depending on the trim.
Overall, drivers like the solid powertrain and good handling. However, the ride could use some improvement and interior room gets a bit tight once you reach full seating capacity. In any event, the Pathfinder has taken some positive steps in the last few years and should continue to maintain its respected position in the SUV market.

Excellent truck and SUV does work and can carry the family. 4WD is awesome very reliable and very low maintenance. 2005 to 2012 does not come with the CVVT transmission which has been causing problems for the new Nissan. The power for the 4.0 V6 is great but the 5.6V8 is a monster. Im buying another one with the V8 this time. Highly recommend it! May 17, 2021

I loved it enough to buy it! Dont shop for vehicles often so didnt think to check all the windows to make sure they rolled down and after purchasing it, noticed that 2 of the 4 didnt. :( That was my fault for not checking but the car lot also told me that there was NOTHING wrong with it so was a bit upset. An excellent family car with 3rd row seating, an all round good but very poor fuel economy asa result of the massive 5.6 liter V8 engine. Very reliable and comfortable. Drives great, nice town and hwy car. Sounds system rocks. Tough rugged yet luxurious and quiet. Back up camera with large display screen, I love this feature especially with kids and pets around! The gas mileage isn't very good, even on the hwy it's hard to hit 20mpg plus a small fuel tank... LE package. Yeah it's a fun car to off roading in, But yeah

Bought this car brand new & drove it for a year - absolutely loved it, but just not enough room in the back rows. We considered a Toyota 4Runner, but the Nissan Pathfinder won hands down in price, options included and the fact that the seats lay completely flat for more storage, while the 4runner doesn't. If our kids were younger or we didn't have kids, this is the ideal vehicle! Got pretty good gas mileage for a mid-size SUV. We traded this pathfinder for our armada at a local Ford dealership. The dealership had the pathfinder on the lot for less than two weeks and we just happened to be picking up some paperwork for our armada as our pathfinder was being sold. Great truck solid engine and frame. Drives like a car but handles everything that can be thrown at it. It has an attractive appearance. It cost very little to maintain bc it doesn't need a tune till 105,000 miles and uses a chain instead of a belt so that never gets done. Aug 22, 2008

Vehicle will shift smooth when new, and on test drive, but module self adjusts itself to traffic pattern. If you drive in city traffic 35 to 45 mph you will develop the problem of rough overdrive automatic shifting, and will end up manually shifting to eliminate rough in and out shift of overdrive. Bogging down once I hit 40mph
I have a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder. It has stated to act weird once I got over 40 mph. It is bogging down and sounds like a moped when accelerating. It has a multi misfire code. I've changed the spark plugs, the coil packs and fuel injectors. Still the same. I am at a loss.
