Dropping the Sport Wagon and MazdaSPEED6 this year, the 2008 MAZDA6 maintains its most popular trims with few changes. Although still behind the pack (Accord, Camry) in terms of sales, the MAZDA6 remains one of the sportier and more stylish sedans and hatchbacks on the market. For 2008, all trims receive 17-inch wheels with a new tire monitor. The Touring and Grand Touring come only with a six-speed automatic transmission, and the Touring gets a standard Bose sound system.
Available in sedan and hatchback body styles, the 2008 MAZDA6 comes in five trim levels: Value Edition, Sport, Sport Value, Touring, and Grand Touring. Within these categories, the MAZDA6 comes as either an i or s, depending on the engine choice. The i has a 2.3-liter, 156-hp inline four that gets 21/28 mpg, while the s gets a 3.0-liter, 212-hp V6 that gets 18/25 mpg. A five-speed manual and a five-speed automatic are the available transmissions, with the Touring and Grand Touring offered only with a six-speed automatic. Although some feel MAZDA6s are underpowered, the chassis, steering, and overall handling give the 2008 version a sporty feel on the road. Both the sedan and hatch earn five and four stars in crash tests, thanks to standard ABS brakes, traction control, and dual front-side and side curtain airbags. Stability control is not offered.
Sport models start with full power features, a CD player, and cruise control, and as you move through the lineup you add power front seats, a CD changer, leather upholstery, and heated seats. The Grand Touring sneaks in sporty touches such as xenon lamps, foglights, and a sunroof. There are few options available for any trim. Rear seats split-fold in both the sedan and hatch, and the 2008 MAZDA6 is notable for its abundant cargo space. While the sedan holds an average 15 cubic feet, the hatch starts at 22 and expands to 59 cubic feet. Consumers agree that the 2008 MAZDA6 is sporty in looks and handling, and they feel the overall driving experience is smooth and fluid. Downsides include the so-so fuel economy and a cramped back seat in terms of both leg- and headroom.

My car got crushed by a tree Sunday night during a storm, I had it 2-3 years and absolutely loved everything about it, it was an amazing first car, Id have ran it until it wouldnt run anymore but the tree had other ideas I guess
I picked up my new mazda6 on Friday morning, its a 2010 and missing the popup storage area on the dash like my 2008 but its got plenty of other nice new features so its okay

This is a great personal car. It sits 4 comfortable, however, it is not good for a family as it's interior space is limited, especially in the rear seating area. It has plenty of options and driving it is fun. It hugs the road and has tight steering and a very stable feel even around tight curves. As a personal car or for even 2 people it is great, fun to drive and sexy looking. Plenty of Mazda zoom.Jul 05, 2014

This is a great personal car. It sits 4 comfortable, however, it is not good for a family as it's interior space is limited, especially in the rear seating area. This car is an awesome car to drive for a station wagon, responsive in sports mode
gear shift, braking excellent and handles very well. Quality of finish is very good
and it has no squeaks or rattles and has not had any mechanical repairs but some
body repairs from minor accidents. This car looks good both inside and out, styling
is excellent. Cost of ownership if acceptable as long as you don't take it to a Mazda
dealership for services. This is a fun car to own and drive, mine is a company car

A sporty car in sheep's clothing! The only way to tell it's a hatchback is the rear wiper. Don't let the 4 cylinder fool you - it's more than enough oomph for most things. Too bad this was the last year that Mazda made it. They really should bring it back.Jan 16, 2012

Its a White 2008 mazda 6i with 20% black tints all around has 12" Polk audio sub
woffer with a 2007 edition 900W Xplod amp, Xenon HID lights with a akrapovic dual
exhaust system and white on white grill, triptronic gears if you like to drive stick
shift. Fun to drive, grate controling grate sound with just enought bass. Extreamly
good air system reall hot in the winter A/C is real cold in the summer perfect family

Might not be the quickest car, but it does everything you'd ever want it to. Handling is absolutely excellent for a family sedan, forward thrust is more than adequate despite mine being equipped with an automatic transmission, and it has yet to break anything in 54000 miles. Fuel economy is somewhat sub-par for a 4cyl however, at 22-24mpg depending on driving habits given an even mix of city/highway.Jun 17, 2010

This is my second Mazda 6, they have both been very reliable company Cars. The last one only needed 2 sidelight bulbs replaced in 93,000 miles.
The latest model is easier on diesel but has more power.

It has decent performance from its 212hp V6. It looks great! Build quality is good despite being built in the U.S. The Mazda6 Sport is very fun to drive, with the Pirelli Nero M+S tires, alot of fun to drive.Aug 23, 2009

Performance: The gas pedal is jumpy.
Build Quality: I've already had to take it in for service three times in the 6 months I've had it.
Appearance: It's not a bad looking car, but it could have more work done on it.
Cost of Ownership: It gets good gas mileage

Great car. 170 PS, but quite fast :) Just try it and you will feel comfort and fun. Nice body, nice interior. Totally new comparing with other Mazda's which produced. It's really fun to drive. As good as gold :)

peformance good, handling good, fuel comsumption not so good. smooth engine, no rattles, brakes could do with a bit more oomph, there ok but not as good as a new mondeo.

A fun mid-sized car among a boring segment The Mazda 6 is one of my favourite cars to drive at work. For a car of its size it is surprisingly fun since most of its competitors are very serious cars. Even with a 4-cylinder engine the Mazda 6 is reasonably quick. The engine is a bit noisy on its first 2 gears, once its in 3rd and higher it settles down. Handling on the 6 is very good, although its not as good as a 3.
The interior of the 6 is reasonably spacious but somewhat small compared to its competitors. For most people the base 6 is fully loaded. Interior colours are also limited to black or beige, beige being only available to 6s with beige exteriors. The key is a neat switchblade design. The cloth seats given are pretty comfortable. The Mazda 6 is a very easy car to like, modest looking and in my opinion a proper mid-sized car while other mid-size cars are much too large. The only thing I could think of improving it is...make it AWD or RWD.Oct 19, 2008

I've had this car for about 2 months, and I really love it. It has a few
quirks, which I've listed in the cons section but over all I am enjoying
it. I chose the model with the tan leather interior, and I'm very happy
with that as well. Mazda's tend to have limited choices for interiors,
either dark or light, which is too light. The leather option is nice when
you have kids, because you simply wipe up spills instead of having
stains on your fabric. The ride is very smooth, as compared to the
mazda 3 which I previously owned, and the car has a heavier, sturdier
feel to it. I have high performance tires on this car, so it handles even
better on corners, etc than with stock tires. The motor in mine might
be a little underpowered for the car, but I chose it based on fuel
economy. I still have no problem getting around people on the

I got my 2008 Mazda6 in November and I honestly love it. My only complaint really is that
the low end torque is literally non-existant, but mid-range torque is pretty nice. The car
is tuned for a constant power delivery in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th gear. The interior
ergonomics are fantastic and this car handles better than most car on the road. Straight
line speed for the Mazda6 is not great, but track speed and autocross speed for the 6i
can't be beat by other competitors. The Bose sound system is amazing as well for a stock

Why does my car just shut off and won’t crank ?
I have an2008 Mazda 6 and it keeps just turning off on me . I’ve took it to the shoot they checked my alternator I got a new battery and starter it was none of the above !!! It just shuts off can’t and won’t crank no lights come on can’t turn on hazards lights or anything . Nothing works like the car just completely dies . What could it possibly be ?
