had "Service Battery charging system" message. Tested alternator, was found to be bad, and replaced alternator. reset codes, and drove a mile and message came back. it is charging at approx. 13.2 volts, and no noticable draws on voltage. also slight "hot wire" smell coming from vent
2007 Saturn Outlook no crank no start help me
After the Check Battery Charging System came on the vehicle, it completly shut down and had to be towed. The mechanic stated that the battery was completely dead. We attempted to charge the battery but it wouldnt hold the charge. After replacing the battery, we noticed that the alternator was also bad. The alternator was replaced and things went well for a couple of days. While driving at low speeds, everything is fine. But as soon as I started to accelerate, the voltage meter went down to 8 volts and the battery light came on again. as I decrease in speed, the voltage went back to 14 volts and operated normal. So driving below 55 is not and issue, but as soon as i hit 60-65, the light comes on.
turn off at store 10 min. tryed to start . turned key on lights in dash ok. turned to start light go out, did not do anything. release key light come back on. check Bat. had 12.5 volts.
So recently bought a previously owned 2007 Saturn outlook xr and my battery keeps losing power no matter what I try...I replaced the alternator, the battery, and the fuse box. Its starts of fine but after you drive it, it drops down and tells you to service the battery...its a brand new battery I've had multiple specialists look at it it temporarily fixes it but then we are back to square 1 after less than 24 hour. WHAT ELSE COULD IT POSSIBLY BE. I literally have a $6000 cliff ornament I got to drive less than 3 months. I'm debating on calling it a lost cause I'm dumping hundreds of dollars to have it be the same issues time and time again.
