The 2007 Mountaineer provides a nice middle ground between the Ford Explorer and the Lincoln Navigator. It's a fine option for the family who enjoys the finer things but may not have the budget or desire for the rather blingy Lincoln Navigator.
2006 marked the start of this current generation, so there aren't many immediately noticeable changes this year. Most changes pertain to the lists of standard and available equipment. For instance, the Safety Canopy side-curtain airbags are now standard, and a heated windshield and larger-screen Rear-Seat DVD Entertainment System are now available.
Other standard features are dual-zone auto climate control, power heated side mirrors, a vehicle message center, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with auxiliary controls for cruise, climate, and audio.
Available options packages include the Quad Seats Package (adds head restraints and center console to second row), the upgraded (Class III/IV) Trailer Tow Package, and the self-explanatory Navigation and Moonroof Package (not available base model).
Crash-test results are excellent, with the NHTSA awarding the Mountaineer a full 5 stars in all but the Rollover Test, in which it scored a mediocre 3. In the IIHS Frontal Offset Crash Test, the vehicle received highest-level rankings across the board.
The '07 Mountaineer is available in a base V6 trim, a Premier V6 trim, and a Premier V8 trim, each with or without All-Wheel Drive. There are three new exterior colors for this year, bringing the total to eight, as well as four leather choices and two cloth choices.

Nice car, but already sold by the time I arrived at the dealer. The car had a lot of miles but appeared to have been taken care of by previous owner. I was concerned about the mileage but probably would have bought it if someone else hadn’t already bought it. The car is similar to a Ford Explorer but a little fancier. We now have 135,000 miles on the car. I have two complaints: 1. Had to get a new radiator after 45,000 miles - it was out of warranty. 2. Sometimes the transmission shifts roughly into reverse. This has been a problem for over 50,000 miles - Ford has reviewed found no easily repairable issues. More of an annoyance than anything else.
The good news - while the EPA rates this vehicle at 19 mpg on the highway, we are getting 22 mpg at about 75 mph overall. In Michigan's Upper Peninsula, where speed limits rend to be loer, we just averaged close to 25mpg @ 55mph.
Maintenance costs have been below average. Our local Lincoln dealer handles our repairs. We shop there for tires and routine maintenance. Their rewards program helps to keep their prices lower than competing independent shops in our area. We bring all of our cars there, even other makes.
Sure, I know it is just a gussied up Ford Explorer, but small

Unsure of what kind of hose I need.
I don't know anything about cars so bare with me. But a bit ago a hose in my car cracked and started spraying coolant. I went to replace it but the auto shops near me didn't have the correct diameter hose I needed that was also pre molded to the angle I needed. Can someone help 2007 mercury mountaineer
I bought a 2007 mountaineer couple months ago, it's been one thing wrong after another. I picked it up from the garage yesterday to find the " wrench symbol" on..I ask why it was on they did a meter that said it need a oil change BUT THE OIL WAS JUST CHANGED LIKE 3WEEKS AGO...I tried to look up the problem and it says if it needs a oil change the window will say so WHY IS THE WRENCH ON SAYING IT NEEDS OIL,,IS IT REALLY NEEDING SOMETHING ELSE????

I have a 2007 mercury mounteneer. At first it started doing a little skip while I was driving and would stop then accelerate. The I was in a red light. Accelerated but the car was moving slow. Now I put it in drive and it won't move at all. It does reverse. I'm I going to have to replace the transmission.... If so bout what price range should I get.
