The Jaguar XJ Series is now in its seventh generation, and this full size flagship sedan continues to offer a blend of advanced technology and equipment with classic Jaguar styling. News for 2006 includes greater engine output for the V-8 and an improved braking system. Satellite radio and Bluetooth are now optional.
The XJ8 sedan is the entry level models for this luxury car, and it is also available with a longer wheelbase. The XJ8 receives all the expected luxury features: leather seats, walnut trim, all power features, adjustable pedals, and four-zone climate control. All XJs also receive Jaguar's "CATS" (Computer Active Technology Suspension), traction control, and the convenient rear-park assist. The ultra-luxury Vanden Plas adds features like fold-down picnic tables for rear seat passengers, lambswool carpeting, and a navigation system. The Super V-8 is differentiated by a more powerful engine, and receives all the features of the lower trims.
For 2006, Jaguar also offer the Super V-8 Portfolio, which costs $25,000 more than the Super V-8. This model features 20 inch wheels, a 400-watt Alpine sound system, a rear center console splitting two power rear seats, and upgraded wood and leather.
The XJ8, XJ8 L, and Vanden Plas are powered by a 4.2 liter V-8, which makes 300 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. Super V-8 models add a supercharger, bringing horsepower to 400 and torque to 413 pound-feet.

Top of the line luxury at a reasonable price when purchased used. It has great horsepower with good gas mileage. I'm currently averaging 22 MPG with about 40% HWY and 60% City driving. Not bad considering it has 4.2L V8.Mar 19, 2014

Understated English luxury. Everyman's Rolls Royce. Handles like a sports car and has the size of a large limo. With navigation, blue tooth telephone and 140 watt Alpine 6 cd changer audio it is very comfortable. Docile but outrageous when you want it to be.Aug 18, 2013

Gorgeous is worth it! Or so the Jaguar marketers would have you believe. I admit, I bought into the mantra. In the end, a car that runs and doesn't break down every other day is worth it! While she always started and ran everything broke on Jaglicious despite fastidious care and babying. From the fuel pump being replaced twice in 12k miles to the rear view mirror falling off into a passengers lap to the chrome door trim falling off during a home hand washing. I was in a loaner Enterprise Ford Focus probably half the time which I came to admire for its reliability and simpleton demeanor. Depreciation is a big factor keeping in mind original sticker in the sixties down to the low thirties in a few years and then falling into the teens a few years later. Admire her beauty from afar but please - yes please do not fall for the Marketeers! Jul 14, 2012

The car is very poorly built but, the performance is reasonable although the car has a bit of a thirst for the fuel consumption.. .
Overall I'd give the car 4 stars only because of its performance. Eventhough it looks like a car for executives, commuting to school and joy-riding in it is very AWESOME!Aug 10, 2010

We use this car alot more for family transport.It never give trouble.It cost $50.00 to fell up.It impresses most people in the world. It cost $2,000 to repare.The exterior is white,the interior is tanish white.It is realy great for parties.If you want to make people look poor this car is the car to get. It cost 160,000Jan 15, 2010

We gave this car, to my uncle in Lousiville (great colour-red for the cardinals) after we had it
only 2 years in Florida. It was a fabulous car. Drove great, great head room, speedy engine,
